Kerry has been removed from the Chance Theater promos. Sep 24 2008, 01:00:09 PM
Okay, so what you don't get to see the show on it's closing night. Most of you have already seen the show and have enjoyed it, which is great. Be content with that. It's not like they won't refund you your money back. They all tried very hard to keep the show open but sometimes the best laid plans fall through and this was probably their only option. It's nothing personal against anyone it's just what had to be done. Accept it. Get your refund and move on. It makes no sense in getting upset over

Do some of you live in a bubble? Many of you have absolutely NO CLUE as to what's going on in the world today. We are going through a financial crisis. The economy is way down and sadly many businesses big and small are downsizing and laying off people left and right. Yes, even Broadway shows and Broadway performers are affected. That is why "Xanadu" is closing. The producers cannot sustain any more losses. Yes, it's messed up they had to push up the closing da

re: Cyd Charisse and Jimmy Stewart uncensored! Sep 12 2008, 01:52:50 PM
Cyd sounds like she was pulling a "Rex Harrison". That infamous half sing, half talk on the beat style he perfected as Henry Higgins in "My Fair Lady" and to be honest it works for her character. She didn't sound bad at all. I wonder if there are pre-records out there of her for "The Band Wagon", "Brigadoon" and "It's Always Fair Weather"? I would love to hear those.

re: It's Official: Hair to Transfer Sep 12 2008, 05:37:48 AM
I think Jonathan Groff and Christopher Hanke are both extremely gifted actors. I saw both as "Claude" and both brought something different to the role. Groff's "Claude" was a little more innocent than other "Claude"'s I have seen but he did a great job with his songs. Groff is obviously on a roll after his breakthrough role in "Spring Awakening", he impressed Ang Lee enough for him to cast him in the film "Taking Woodstock". I'm glad this show is transferring. It's inc

re: One last attempt to keep SA open? Sep 12 2008, 05:24:01 AM
To the OP, be very careful how you title your threads. The title of this threads gives the impression that "Spring Awakening" is indeed closing and that the producers are trying one last attempt in an effort to keep it open, which is clearly not the case.

Those damn filters Sep 9 2008, 07:06:50 PM
Then they can try to figure out how to remove Mitzi Gaynor. IMO Miss Gaynor was one of the best things about the film and besides the wonderful score probably one of the only reasons I watch the film today.

rent your first time Sep 7 2008, 06:04:00 PM
At the NYTW before it moved to Broadway. It moved me like no other show had up to that point. I saw it three more times that year after it moved to the Nederlander after the original cast left I never had a chance to go back but the show will always be special to me. It's kind of bittersweet for me that it's closing.

This thread is a great example of what this forum can be: a wealth of information and insight. A lot of you have so much to contribute and are so knowledgeable. It's refreshing to just sit back and read a thread that is so informative instead of one full of insults, put downs, etc. I don't have anything to contribute to this thread only to pay those of you who have shared your knowledge a compliment. Kudos! :)
