This is one of my all time FAVORITE movies! I can't WAIT to get it on DVD. I actually just showed it to the baby I care for and I know he is only 10 months old but he LOVED it! I swear! I think I can recited it backwords and forwards. This thread definitly made me smile!
Mary Poppins also made me fall in love with the city of London

Can you find the Marni Nixon recording Marquise?
I suspect you are a genius btw.
the marni nixon recording is right above your post Glebb!

Well don't you know it Marquise!
That cloud tableaux is the moment MP grabbed me. :)
I remember a different album cover for Marni - the real actors looking as though they are stepping off of Big Ben, but not falling.

Remember then Kristen Chenoweth sang "spoonful of sugar" at the Kennedy Center Honors for Julie Andrews and brought the house down?
at least I think it was her.
Oh and Marquise, Poppins was quite impatient with her umbrella and carpet bag because they seemed to be sinking through the cloud.

the one song I usually fast forward through is the "toppence" sogn the old men in the bank sing. It gets really old really fast.
glebb i was able to find this version of the marni nixon recording also...but i can't seem to find the one you described.

Marquise, you're so good. Don't worry.
You've done so much already.
What a nice guy you are.
Thanks for all of these pictures.
They bring back some wonderful memories.
i know it's just nitpicking but it wouldve been cool if disney wouldve released the 40th anniversary using the original artwork on the cover.
that drawing of julie is too damn sexy for mary poppins..she's showinG waaaaaaaaay too much leg there! LOL
