"I don't think it's fair to make assumptions out of things she did not say."
THANK YOU!!!!
*gobbles up soaps cake* Thank you!
Life's not fair. She made a rather long post on the topic and failed to mentioned the most important thing about it. If she didn't want people making assumptions about her, she should cleared all doubts in the first place.
I don't think it's fair to make assumptions out of things she did not say.
You mean like how SweetQ assumed the only reason I responded was to be mean to her instead of considering that I might have a strong opinion on the subject?

If you make assuptions, that is your problem- not mine.
If I didn't state something, nothing should be assumed (whether you feel it's important or not)

Woah chill out guys, she was just sharing what she did today in class and how she felt about it, no need to jump down her throat.
...Well there are nicer ways of saying things. Especially over the internet, where it's hard to tell the tone of messages.
First off, it's a message board. People come here to post their opinions and make statements. No one poster should feel that they have the authority to say whether certain types of posts are allowed or not, even if the poster didn't expect the designated responses that they got.
Secondly, it bothers me how America as a whole generally feels that we are superior. And I am BY NO MEANS saying that I agree with many of the pracitces that happen around the world, but I also think that with our so-called superiority comes a level of stupidity and not being able to accept the beliefs of others. I'm sure there are many things that America does, or has done in the past, that many other countries highly disagree with.
I'm not saying that we shouldn't do what we can to help others who need it, but I am saying that we shouldn't be so blind to constantly look at the faults of others while ignoring our own.

Excuse me but if most of your posts (in the past) in response to mine have not been mean or degrading, I would not have said that.
*hugs JLC and offers her cake*

*takes a slice of cake* Thanks soap
.... wow. Yeah.
In other banal news, time for another round of emotional hell. God, I don't believe this.
For Em, because this picture may help in some way:
*crawls between them, hides*
I don't know what to do. I spent months trying to talk myself out of a really awful state, and the one thing that could fix it happened. And now I run the risk of losing that again. I don't know what to do.
*hugs* for Em.
Hugs, The above pic cheers me up often.

Soap- did I ever tell you how much I love you?!
I should watch it that picture might get this thread deleted.

Hee, I was just looking for that Rogue
JLC, I know exactly what you mean. There's a difference between objecting to practices like clitorectomies and footbinding (which have SERIOUS health consequences) versus objecting to eating dogs and cats, or tattooing.
Let them eat cake. I have friends whose families were personally effected by this; thankfully, many of them had the ability to move away from it, instead of being forced to perpetuate the "tradition." Sorry I can't just shrug off the subject and let other people ignore the serious issues of it, but Lin'An's mother and Piedad deserve more respect than that.
I'm driving myself crazy. I'm waiting to get great news, and soon. One part of my life has been pretty bad for the past year and a half, and this would be a perfect solution. Thing is, just about everyone other than me has given up. I'm not sure how realistic it is at this point, but I don't think that I've ever wanted anything more.
I don't think that that made any sense.
I guess... hope for the best, but be prepared for the worst. That's the best way to approach something like that, Bohemian. But hang on to your hope!
My stomach hurts. I think it's hunger pains, but I'm not sure.
