I love Loretta Swit in S.O.B. Frankly, I don't believe Julie Harris could have done as well. But, who can forget Julie Harris as Miss Thing, in YOU'RE A BIG BOY NOW?
Bah. Julie Harris wouldn't have lasted 30 seconds jousting against Farrah Fawcett on Battle of the Network Stars.
Restoring the capitals in Julie's honor.
Read and weep...THIS is a frightening BWW classic that was posted by Princess MimiChica. I don't think she ever bounced back from the thrashing than ensued in this thread after she posted this:

ok, so now J.Lo isn't a "REAL actress"? can I ask what makes her less of an actress than other people who make movies? I know everyones sick of hearing about her, but the woman DID make some damn good movies (Selena, anyone?) and think she deserves to be on the Actors Studio as much as anyone else. Besides, i've never even HEARD of some of the actors someon ementioned:
"with Julie Harris? Phillip Bosco? Vanessa Redgrave?"
I don't know who they are, so i'm MUCH more likey to watch an episode with Jennifer than one of those people. I say, GO, J.lo! Shake that big bootay!!!!
I'll bet she knows who Philip Bosco is now, thanks to Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.
Slightly off the subject but....what the hell is the president doing there? Does he have a say as to who gets the honors? With hardcore libs like Julie Harris and Robert Redford there, this should be interesting.....I can't even look at Bush anymore, it's the same sensation as looking at the soft, flailing underbelly of a cockroach.
Geoge Bush = Gregor Samsa?
LOL!!!
But seriously, what does the president have to do with this?
Isn't that beautiful gown the Harris is wearing in the Member of the Wedding photo the same one Corine wore to the Drama Desk awards last year?
Why are you sullying your very own Julie Harris thread?

Didn't get to see it - working again. However, all I can say of such an honor for Julie Harris is that she is a theatre great who deserves every accolade to come her way.
On BROADWAY:THE GOLDEN YEARS, there's a clip of her in Member of the Wedding, those unfamiliar with her should watch a great artist at work.
If Julie Harris was in Wicked, this thread would be unncessary. But I thank you for starting it anyway. She's freakin' brilliant.

She's actually 80? She still has that youthful eagerness in her face. Not to mention one of the most beautiful and distinctive voices in Broadway history.
She turned 80 two days before the tribute was taped.
It was sweet to see how excited she was by each actress who came out to perform in Broadway Baby.
yeah, well i did her! and she was GREAT!
SHUT. UP.
hey, it was very innocent. not like the time i did joan van ark. now that was NASTEEE.
Ewwww. I bet.
Anyone who is interested, Miss Harris is co starring with Ruby Dee in a movie called "The Way Back Home" It was made in 2005. She plays a grandmother who has just had a stroke. Still acting at 80.
