What a wonderful story. If I had a daughter remember me that way I'd say,'Damn! I must have done something right in life!!" I think he'd be prouder than proud to hear such beautiful praise from his child. Sorry to hear about your loss. I dread the day when my parents go.Stay strong!

Thanks everyone! Namo- I am shocked that you know that Hew Haw salute- lol! My dad was a very funny and simple man. He loved going to Big Lots and he bought almost everything that was "As Seen on TV". (ie. I have a Magic Bullet, a George Foreman Grill...) I'm so glad he knew my son was at NYU before he died. My son came home Wednesday night, attended the funeral, and left Thursday afternoon. Unfortunately, the fight between my sisters is about to begin- but that's another very long story! So thanks again to all my cyber friends! You all have such a way with words and that's why I love this board so much!

Hope you can escape unscathed. This can be a very interesting time for survivors.

I'm so sorry for your loss. He's in a better place now and is resting in peace. The best thing for you to do is to stay out of your sisters' drama knowing that your father would not have wanted any fighting.

A loving tribute by a wonderful daughter. The reason that there is grief is that there is so much love. There could be less grief but that would have meant less love and I never met anyone who wanted less love. May the L*rd bless you and your children and may your year be full of naches from each other.

He is lucky to have had a daughter like you. My heart felt condolences go out to you and your family. As far as "the fight between you and your sisters" goes, just stay the child that is not going to argue over anything. Besides, more importantly, he will always be with you with or without a few of his possessions he left behind.

He lived in the Bronx and loved Maria Callas and the Beverly Hillbillies...he sounds an awful lot like my father.
Please accept my condolences.
But if this is a Shiva Thread (I don't know that we've ever had on on BroadwayWorld), shouldn't we bring food?

I offer my sincere condolences, as well.
Your tribute was lovely - and I hope that all the wonderful memories you shared bring you comfort as you grieve your loss.

supportivemom, you have my deepest, sincerest condolences. And, should we ever meet in real life, some fried chicken and a Jello salad.
