I didn't want to threadjack Q's thread!
Now that we all know how uncageg is pronounced, I propose we all adopt him as our honorary uncle.
I liked that one, too, Jane. I went to your profile and enlarged it to check it out.
"Now that we all know how uncageg is pronounced . . . "
Um, do we?
Even though I now know the story and how to pronounce his name, I still say it wrong in my head. He will always be un-cage-eg to me!
Thanks Reg! And I"d also like to know the story and pronunciation of uncageg.
Im the same way Clevername!
His nephews couldnt pronounce Uncle Greg. They said Unca Geg.
uncageg, If Im sorry if I have this story wrong in any way!!
That was going to be my guess! (Weez's clue helped, of course.)
thats how I remember the story
wasnt it in the why that username thread Schmergy made?
HAHAHA!
I had no idea that's how it was said! I was way off!
Thanks Jane!!
Well I have arrived...I have my own thread!!! lol
Yes clever, that is how the story goes. It was 2 of my great nephews and nieces. Some of my friends still call me uncageg.
And there are times when I am uncaged...but that's another story....
I always thought his screenname was a La Cage reference.
My niece used to call me Unc (still does, now that I think about it) because I was wearing a UNC--as in Chapel Hill--sweatshirt once, and she thought it must be short for "uncle."
My oldest nephew (I have 4 nephews and 2 nieces.) is a year and a day younger than me and he calls me UNC to this day. The rest call mr by my name and the great nieces and nephews call me uncle.
Reg, the story about your neice and the UNC sweatshirt is classic!
uncageg, now that I know the story behind your name I love it!
My BIL's kids just call my husband "Uncle".

Please, Jane - you know I keep a folder of your work, and will take it from wherever you post it!
thanks, Q. but still, I felt I should move it out of the other thread. I seem to go off on tangents a lot, and this time I tried to catch it!
