Let it never be said that I'm defending Phelps, but I think that's going a bit too far. There are children in the Westboro Baptist Church the same way there were children in that theatre. It's not their fault they were born into such a cesspool of hate.

I predict they won't show. Whenever they know that there will be a substantial "wall" of people they don't go. They get out-yelled and the media rarely covers them because they didn't disrupt the ceremony.

There was a former WBC member who did a Q&A on Reddit, and he said that the church doesn't necessarily really believe what they preach. Since they're all lawyers, they basically try to piss other people off enough to the point where they get physically assaulted. Then they sue for millions of dollars. That's their entire point; it's how they operate and make money. Weirdly, this makes me feel better about them.
