The original Nightmare on Elm Street was so intense and terrifying and like Mister Matt said, without the internet, it was a brand-new terrifying thrill ride. I remember being intensely scared in a sold out theatre as well. (Remember when theatres used to sell out, because it was only showing on one or two screens and not 12). That was part of the thrill, actually getting into a movie on opening weekend.
