We've all got out assorted mentors & teachers when it comes to performing.

What is the nicest, most heartfelt, or most memorable thing you've ever heard from one, or that you can think of?

=)

Being treated like my opinion was worth something.

Being treated as a peer/equal.

Last week I was in English (somehow an honors student got stuck in the dumbest English class ever, but anyway) The teacher is a big part in our school productions,
the other day when he picked up my test he told me about how well I did in my audition a few days ago, and how impressed they all were and how he wishes he could show me just how much I've grown as a performer since freshmen year.
But somehow I always get stuck in ensemble come musical time, but it was just so good to finally get recognized for that.

"If I was directing this play, I'd cast you as Blanche."

My acting teacher told me that when my drama class was reading "A Streetcar Named Desire".

At the time, it meant alot to me because I felt like I wasn't a very good actor and also because Blanche is a role that I'd really love to play.

and that's the only moment I can think of right now.

I think being told by George Masswohl (who played Sweeney Todd at Canstage in Toronto) that I pulled off Anthony.

When I played Perchick in Fiddler, the guy playing Tevye had done it like, 3 or 4 times in various productions, and on closing night he says to me, "You have the worst song in the entire show, but I gotta tell you, I enjoy listening to you singing it more than any other time I've seen it." Of course I'm paraphrasing, but that was nice, and funny too.
