About Saving Promise and Founder L.Y. Marlow:
Saving Promise is a national non-profit domestic violence awareness organization working to propel domestic violence to the forefront of the American consciousness alongside breast cancer and heart disease, and overcome the third largest issue afflicting women in the United States. As a survivor, an advocate, a mother, and woman who comes from four generations of mothers and daughters who suffered and survived more than 60 years of domestic violence and abuse, L.Y. Marlow has decided to not only break the cycle of domestic violence in her family but to transform their pain into a “Promise for Change”. L.Y.’s mission began when the life of her granddaughter named Promise was threatened in a domestic violence dispute and L.Y. could not let this social disease afflict Promise, now the fifth generation. This is the story that inspired Saving Promise.

This would seem like a GREAT pre-show activity for those attending Company at the NY Philharmonic tomorrow.
I would be there in a heartbeat if I didn't have to work.

Corine's Corner is on the event's Facebook wall. Any chance the diminutive pepper pot will be one of the celebrities attending?
Regardless of your history with her, this is a good cause. I applaud her for participating PERIOD. Please let's not turn this thread into a reason to vilify her and lose track of what's truly important.

I think it's a great cause and was hoping Corine would appear. I was a little uncomfotable with topher's use of the word heartbeat, now that you mention it.
Thanks, Namo. Wait, what did I mention? lol

Also, Namo's Nook strongly endorses Magnolia Cupcakes, even when they aren't being philanthropical.
My apologies, Namo.
Today is the day! =)

How did it go? People might be surprised to find out that Vanilla/Vanilla is my favorite Magnolia cupcake.
Yum.

A good slogan for the next one might be: Beat Batter Don't Batter & Beat
OY, Namo LOL! There will be another fundraiser for those on the west coast May 14th. Same cause but not associated with this one at all - that one will be frozen yogurt, I'll bump up my thread on that closer to the time.
