re: Funniest films you've ever seen?

The old screwball comedies:
Bringing Up Baby
My Man Godfrey
My Favorite Wife

Also:
Whats Up Doc
Arsenic and Old Lace
To Be or Not to Be (the original Jack Benny-Carol Lombard one)
The Philadelphia Story
Harvey
The Producers (The Original Zero Mostel-Gene Wilder film not the one with Mannered Blahderick).

I never realized most of my favorite comedies are black and white films.

re: Funniest films you've ever seen?

Comedy is my least favorite genre of film, because I don't find them particularly funny. Films I did find very funny are:

It's a Gift with W.C. Fields
The Producers with Zero Mostel
Female Trouble with Divine

I agree with:

Some Like It Hot
Seduction of Mimi

other good ones were listed, too (as well as some that I wouldn't call funny)

I liked the original Bedazzled with Peter Cook and Dudley Moore
I also enjoyed Being John Malkovich

Funniest Films You've Ever Seen?

It takes a lot for a movie to make me laugh, and Waiting for Guffman still delivers every time.

Interesting that Monty Python and the Holy Grail hasn't been mention (has it? I didn't read the thread that closely). I'm actually not a Python fan at all, but it amuses me that the film that certain people I know would call "the ultimate comedy" hasn't even garnered a mention.
