Hi--
I need a REALLY funny relatively obscure song for a cabaret performance. I am a mezzo/belter with a pretty wide range. The past two cabarets I have performed My Party Dress(Kerrigan and Lowdermilk) and The Alto's Lament. Sheet music doesn't need to be available. I was thinking of maybe doing Screw Loose from Cry Baby, but does anyone have any funnier suggestions?
Thanks!
Vodka from Song of the Flame by Gershwin.
The sheet music is available.
its not from a musical...but Taylor the Latte boy is great!

Hm...maybe you could do Taylor's response (Taylor the Latte Boy for males.)
You could do "I know things now" from Into the Woods. Not a very well known show (well, to the general public)
'I know things now' is one of the most overdone songs from Into the Woods...I would suggest going with something like
-'When the Music Played' from How to Save the World and Find True Love in 90 Minutes or Less
-"All The Men In My Life Keep Getting Killed By Candarian Demons" from Evil Dead the Musical
-"Anything" from Triumph of Love
-"Everybody's Girl" from Steel Pier
-"Rita's Confession" from Lucky Stiff
Taylors response is hilarious if you can find a girl to do the first half!

"Give Him The OO-La-La" by Cole Porter
It ought to be done rather fast and the lyrics which are very clever need to be enunciated within an inch of their life. There are many jokes within the song and many double entendres. The audience deserves them all.
Another thing, no one will know the song. Okay maybe a few, but not very many at all. You could stop a show with it and everyone will think its new when it was written in the late 30s-early 40s.

"All I've Got" from "Silver's Ghost" - hypochondria at its best! There's a version on a CD called "Showtrain", and I've added a link to a website which sells this CD (or download from i-Tunes).
CDs -> Showtrain -> All I've Got
It's written for a man, but
"Everybody Wants to be Sondheim" is pretty funny...somewhat blasphemous...but funny.
