Whether or not it "qualifies" as a swear word, I'll never forget when I screamed to my father "JUST KILL THE DAMN THING!" when a giant grasshopper had gotten into my bedroom, at age 6.

8. A goldfish. When we had to get a new bowl for it a year later, the shop insisted on selling the bowl with a free fish. The new fish killed my original one, and I had a grudge against it from then on.
