If there's any more, than yes. But if there's only one or two a season, then no.
What's the point in winning by default?

I do think someone's question earlier was a good one: The Producers Guild award may not always be a precursor, but with the Producers, Directors and Writers weighing in on BROKEBACK, my guess is, there were clearly more actors among the voters who came down on the CRASH side. About 2 weeks ago, many dismissed the SAG sweep, but I think it's worth noting how cheered CRASH was that night, as the SAG members who are also Academy voters, may well have pushed CRASH over. (And don't forget 130,000 dvds mailed out to everyone...)
It ain't a presidential election; best film can win by one vote. We'll never see the numbers, but it's very possible the two films had close tallies. People keep saying "They" voted for CRASH instead, as if it was somehow uninimous.

And the best actress oscar should have gone to someone that was not even nominated. Joan Allen for "Upside Of Anger."
Thank you, DAME!!! Had she been nominated, I would've wanted her to win. But, out of the given nominees, I think Witherspoon deserved it.
When I left CRASH my friend and I both were like "Um...okay..."
Likewise. I still can't believe it won.
