Where have any Democrats suggested that they are never intolerant?

Should we be tolerant of bigotry? Should we be tolerant of homophobia, racism, sexism, taking away a womans right to choose. I think it's highly doubtful that you're going to find a Democrat who will say that we should tolerate those things, or that we should be tolerant of a party that embraces them.

Can you explain to me why I should be tolerant of someone who supports a party who doesn't find me an equal, but in fact wants to enact legislation against me. Can you explain to me why I should consider that person a friend, when they would and have supported that party? Can you explain to me why I should tolerate such a person?

If you can, please do.

Not...if they vote in support of a party who supports those things. That's not stereotyping. When discrimination is part of the party platform and you vote in support of a Republican candidate...who supports that platform, then you with your vote are supporting that platform as well. Nothing stereotypical about that.

I don't care if people disagree with my politics. Be as Republican or as Democrat or as Green Party or as Libertarian as you want.

Just don't expect me to embrace someone who votes with a party that wants to discriminate against me.

How would you like it...if tomorrow, in the Democrats platform there was a plank that said the party will work for a Constitutional amendment, to ban all female photographers. And then your "friends" told you although they didn't agree with that ban they were going to vote for the Democrat anyway. Wouldn't that piss you off...just a little? Wouldn't that make you wonder if they were really your friends...or if they were just paying lip service?

That's mighty big of you. I'm guessing Annie Leibovitz might have a different take on it. But that's only a guess.

The issue isn't if I'm gay...or if I'm referring to gay marriage. The issue is that the REPUBLICAN PARTY had a plank in it's platform that calls for discrimination (at least in 2004, I haven't seen the '08 platform yet). It shouldn't make any difference if you know me or my sexual orientation or not. Discrimination is discrimination. Whether I'm gay or whether I'm straight is not the issue. Discrimination is the issue. If you can justify supporting the Republicans and discrimination...then be my guest...just don't expect me to be tolerant of it.
