Is Mel a citizen? Maybe he's afraid Angie Harmon will serve him a margarita.
And where's Dennis Miller, the Bush regime's most public spokesperson, the "I used to be a cool liberal, and now I'm a cool Republican" POV a signature. He was part of that "9/11 changed everything" mindset that put a handful on the fence temporarily, blinded by rage in a reactionary moment. I think many calmed down and being quietly apolitical.
And Vincent Gallo?
"wow. Way to discriminate blindly."
I'm not blindly discriminating. I am specifically talking about a political party that openly endorses state sanctioned discriminatory practices.
Ron Silver was one of those, too, Auggie.
Yes! Ron Silver! (who still makes me cry in GARBO, TALKS) I keep thinking he's come 'round.
What about the famouse Republican 10, Bo Derek? Even as a 6 1/2 with an immovable forehead, she's valuable?
Wasn't Dean Cain in that Terry Shiavo movie?
I love Garbo Talks! I thought I was the only one who even saw that movie.
I actually had a teensy crush on Gary Sinise when he was in The Grapes of Wrath. I lost my VHS of the PBS broadcast of that and Tru with Robert Morse. If anyone has a copy, please contact me IMMEDIATELY.
What were we talking about?
Who knows what the Republicans are thinking. Drew Carey is supposedly very pro-gay, but is still a Republican....its pick n choose.
"Who knows what the Republicans are thinking."
Well I know if they are voting Republican they are not thinking about equality. If ignorance is an excuse then things like the slavery and the holocaust can just be forgotten.
Remember in 1992 when the GOP chose as their celebrity to lead the Pledge of Allegiance....Charlie Korsmo? And who the f**k is that? Why he's the staunch Republican who played "The Kid" in DICK TRACY!
You gotta admit, this sh*t's an upgrade.
Carey is one of those old school Libertarians -- you know "don't tell me I can't smoke in a bar" types. I don't think he's remotely into the neocon agenda or the "with us or against us" patriotism bs. The libertarians are less delineated these days. I knew many in the 80s, who just wanted everyone out of their business, and to keep their money. No agenda re social issues, and not arm-twisting philosophy. I'm sure many had evolved/devolved, and yep, 9/11 sucked the free spirit out of a lot.
"Wasn't Dean Cain in that Terry Shiavo movie?"
I'm not sure but he played Scott Petersen in that movie about Lacey's murder, etc.

Well given the choice between Obama and McCain, Obama is going to at the very least get rid of "Don't Ask Don't Tell" which is a direct violation of our constitution.
I feel you, Jane. I don't like either candidate either.
Who knows what the Republicans are thinking. Drew Carey is supposedly very pro-gay, but is still a Republican....its pick n choose.
Just like the Bible!
So what do we do?
My friend said I shouldn't vote, since Obama has NY anyway.
this was to shbrt alley
Yes not voting is always a great answer. You can still go and vote for your local government. If you have a more liberal persepective vote for those newbies and help get them elected in local government.
I'll probably vote for Obama because I absolutely won't vote for McCain. Of course, the funny thing is, I vote in Staten Island, which will go to McCain.
I didn't say I was in agreement with my friend about not voting. I don't like the idea.
Jesus, mejust! What are you, the ballot police? Jane, vote as you wish... or not. It's your fundamental right.
Thank you, SM2, a breath of fresh air!

Mr. Matt and Auggie, I love Garbo Talks, too! Whenever I've mentioned it no one knows what the hell I'm talking about.
I think Silver's liberal on the social issues, conservative on defense and foreign policy. When he endorsed Bush during the last election I was puzzled. I understand that values and priorities can change over time, and that party members (on both sides) often don't agree with every tenet of the platform (pro-life Democrats like Bob Casey/pro-choice Republicans like Olympia Snowe, etc.). It's just that Silver gave one of THE most impassioned, intelligent speeches I had ever heard in defense of abortion rights in the early nineties. It's hard for me to believe he's okay with risking the Supreme Court and endorsing McCain.
To each their own I guess.
Ethel Merman was a lifelong Republican.
Kate Shindle, by the way, has written in her blog that she's supporting John McCain.
I find it amusing how tolerant Democrats claim to be, until someone disagrees with their point of view. Then, suddenly, they're abhorred.
Count me among those who don't like either candidate (I supported Clinton) and have not made up their mind how to vote yet. I'm leaning towards Bob Barr at this point.
