Well, not exactly "marriage," but they're closer than we are here in the states.
And interestingly enough the British Isles have not sunk into the ocean yet.
I'm sure God is just biding "his" time.

God is probably talking to George W. right now getting some feedback.
Meanwhile, that motherf*cking apellate court in New York just ruled against Ling's ruling legalizing it here.
F*ck 'em all, I says.

Thanks, Michael Bloomberg for putting us behind South Africa in extending human rights.
That's a great legacy to leave behind, you pretentious boob.
There's that line in "The Normal Heart" about United States being the only developed country, besides South Africa, to not guarantee Healthcare to it's citizens.
Guess the US is really fallen behind.
I just love this line:
A transvestite advertises a travel company at the Gay Wedding Show in Brighton, England, on Sunday.
Correct me if i wrong, but honey thats a drag queen.
People totally need to catch up on their vocabulary, right!? lol
How can I be living in Brighton and miss the gay wedding show. Oh that's right, I'm single. Thanks again, Jerby.
Bway and I are going to be making a trip to MA soon...

'Thanks, Michael Bloomberg for putting us behind South Africa in extending human rights.'
I would just like everyone to stop and take a moment and reflect on this statement. SOUTH AFRICA, who imprisoned Nelson Mandela for what? 27 YEARS???? and which practiced apartheid until what? the LATE 80'S????? is now extending marriage rights to gay people.
The United States is a disgrace.
Are we to be surprised that the U.S. is becoming one of the most backwards non-third world nations in the world? We're letting other countries get way ahead of us in all domains because of anti-science policies and inability to accept the separation of church and state. It's really disheartening.
Anyway, this is good news.

Poppy, does this mean we could shoe-horn a gay marriage in between eating and visiting George on the 17th? There's bound to be a number on that day - you know, all the guys rushing to tie the knot in time for Christmas.
well good for them. maybe Bush will get his act together....though i doubt it...and thats wishful thinking at best.

yay! go UK
We'll be the very model of a (un)Modern Christian Society in no time.
Just call it the US version of the Taliban.
Pattifan, we can't get married until the 21st, alas so perhaps we could do it sometime in the new year?

Crap, I used to work at that appellate court! I feel betrayed.
Oh, and the news from the UK- a sad lack of frogs falling from the sky. And I haven't seen a single river of blood. Disappointing, really.

OK, Poppy, a New Year wedding it is. As you got to name the date, I get to choose Rufus Wainwright to conduct the ceremony. We don't want any trace of camp at the ceremony. And I'll try not to be too hurt that you're only going through with it cuz someone stole your intended.
please don't remind me the wounds are still so fresh
.
Wait, you don't want camp, yet you want Rufus to conduct the ceremony?
You can't steal what was given to you.
