Lucas, for the uninitiated, is the largest New York producer of gay porn films. Lucas, born Andrei Lvovich Treivasan in Moscow, Russia, is an ardent supporter of Israel and claims to be a conservative Republican.

He recently praised Romney saying:

“I would support Romney, of course. There is nobody else to support. I am not in love with him, but I like him. I don’t see any danger coming from Romney when it comes to porn. It’s just not there. And I think he will be much better than President Obama. Not that it will be difficult to be better than President Obama.”

I work on the fringes of the sex industry (retail, but it counts!) and the Lucas films will always be best sellers, even if his nasty, plastic face is on the cover or not.

I'm not going to get into his political views, but he's doing something right. He's made millions through his films and through other marketing.

I just can't stand looking at him.

No one claimed he wasn't doing "something right" as a business man.

But gay men should be conscious of where their dollars are going. If you are buying his products you are supporting a party that wants - at best- to deny you equal rights, at worst...well...

Unfortunately, people are lazy and the package doesn't say, "I SUPPORT MITT". People are going to buy what they want, especially when it's something as personal as pornography. They're not going to ask me and it's not my job to say otherwise.

As always, there are better companies to support. It's the consumers job to know where their money is going.

Technically, by the time the DVD has already reached the shelf, Lucas has made his money. When a customer buys the DVD, that money is going into my boss's pockets by way of profit. My boss doesn't buy DVDS or toys directly from the companies. Our distributor is the one who pays Lucas. Then we pay the distributor.

Yes, but if customers stop buying off your shelves, then your boss stops ordering Lucas DVDs and the distributor stops buying them from Lucas.

If the customer keeps putting money/profits in your bosses pocket, Isn't that pocket where he gets the money to order more DVDs from the distributor who pays Lucas?

Not necessarily so. Just on a personal level, I won't support Lucas' producst and I can't be the only gay man who won't.

I have faith in the Gay Community.. In the past once we have fully understood where our dollars are going we've made some incredible turn-arounds happen.

If I bought Chick-fil-A sandwiches from a distributor and then sold them, Chick-fil-A is making money. Period.

Lucas has gotten into his weird head that Obama is anti-Israel. That is where this is coming from. If, God forbid, Romney is elected, he will soon be eating his words.
