We will be in DC on 7/1. The folks are fine. My dad has been back in Omaha for about a month. They are looking at a smaller house.

Oh, and the squirrel has not returned!!!

Hey, mollylom, no offense that I just don't feel like comisserating with you about your underage drinking in the DRINK thread. However, if you do drink when you're old enough to get a driver's license, please don't take anybody else out with you when you wrap your car around a tree. And the teddy bears and saran wrapped poems that all begin "Your a good friend in this life and the next..." will look fabulous adorning your makeshift tree shrine, I'm sure. 15 year olds talking about their favorite drinks should maybe the LAST demographic on the planet to dare utter the phrase "Get a life" to anybody else.

Plum, I know you almost inevitably attempt to bring a rabbinical sense of laser like semantics to so so soooo many threads, but if you came away with

"Nasty = interesting and genuine
Nice = bland and insincere"

it just shows me that this thread is not for you. As it isn't for so many others. I really made it a point to talk about genuine kindness, genuine friendliness, genuine grouchiness and genuine arguments.

I detailed the myriad ways those things play out on this board, I just used the "no fits" TITLE as a jumping off point.

And, I thank Robbie for what he wrote and again, I fall back on the words of the master, Stephen Sondheim:

Nice is different than good.

Thank you Nina, whoever you are, for your kind words. I do think many people miss the points of what I try to say, and the way in which I say it.

And, Iflit, I'm way behind in work thanks to yesterday too.

And Rath, whatever I can do to help you live up to the part where you said you weren't going to "play" with me anymore, please let me know. I just can't bear to read one more misread from you. "It's not all about you namo...." It sure feels that way when you say it.

Not at all. None. Not a speck of amusement. I just really felt like the post with which I started this thread had a point, and one I made more than my usual effort to articulate clearly.

That it can not possibly compare to a fifteen year old describing her drinking experiences and her creative alcohol recipes is a point we'll just have to disagree on.

And do let us know how your attempt to get a life works out.

namo, i suggest you follow the example you so graciously provide for others. if you don't like what a thread is about, or what a person is saying, just leave it and don't feel you have to fight whatever the hell battle it is you're fighting and show everyone how much YOUR world sucks. we get it, you're negative. i've seen this show before, what else is on?

you're as one dimensional as they come. you're not about debate and discourse, you're about disillusionment and debasing people.

your mission is over - you can take off the green jumpsuit and get back in your silver jet and fly off now.
