I'll take one of those vomit bags...I need it after reading just a few of the posts in that thread. I'm not advocating fighting and hatred among posters but it seems everytime a thread comes up which creates fights, another follows with the message "Let's all post nice things"

It does make me want to throw up. I would rather see a sincere hate fest than a bunch of phony compliments that are being put out there just because someone wants to post something. Compliments should come beacuse you mean them and being nice should be sincere, not something you do because it's the thraed of the moment on a board or because you know that your false compliment will get you a false compliment from someone else.

I'm all for discussions. Hell, I find arguments really satisfying.

Do I think I'm nice? No. Do I tell people what I think? Yes.

But I set myself boundaries. There is a such thing as going TOO FAR.

Case in point: The Liam "debates". These are what Namo and I have had the biggest arguments about. Our arguments fortunately/unfortunately have been deleted. But in those threads you accused me of doing this very thing, being too "nice", when I was doing exactly what you are now telling me to do. And you are not the only person I have locked horns with over it. Ask PALJOEY. I respect him a lot, he's a board friend, but I said exactly the same things to him as I did to you. And you know what, he dealt with it. He didn't start attacking me, as you have done on several occassions.

And, of course, before you start the "but you said mean things too" bullsh!t, I have said many things to you over the course of these arguments. Were they nice? No. Do I regret them? No. Would I say them again? Maybe not.

But I agree with the whole point of this post. No, we don't have to all love each other, sipping tea and playing nice. It's not real. However, there is also a lovely thing called balance, and I think you lack it, Namo. I can only really recall one truly non-sarcastic or negative post of yours, and that was your review of Robbiej's Basketcase.

I find many of your posts extremely funny. You are obviously a very intelligent man, but as I said, you lack balance. Sarcastic, sardonic and snide posts may be funny, but not ALL THE TIME. And that is about as nice as your posts get. If you aren't being sarcastic, you're being downright aggressive.

So that's it. I find you funny. I respect your intelligence. But I don't respect you. As someone summed you up so well, you behave like a 3 year old with ADHD and a 200+ IQ.

So go on, refute. Attack me. But Namo, the act's gotten old. It's losing the humour, and turning into sh!t. We've all heard your drivel before, no matter how eloquently worded it is...

I've had fights with a few people on this board, but I think most will say that it's not personal. I'll argue a subject on the board, but still be able to get along with the person on other things. It's a message board, not a house. I don't have to live with you people. I don't have to work with you people. There are a few I really do dislike and I choose not to respond to them, because I know it is pointless. I usually get along with everyone, but if someone doesn't like me, that's fine. I don't like everyone either.

Which reminds me, my first big fight on this board was with Namo. I think we both moved on.

Paradox, I'm not going to fight with you about your post. And it doesn't crush me to read it. I would however like to thank whomever for the very flattering assessment of my IQ, and the reference to my youthfulness. The ADD thing is Corine, though.

I do think that getting to "know" people through their screen names and the themes they create sometimes means that the aura of a person preceeds their posts. There are plenty of non-sarcastic weisenheimer posts I have made, they just don't register.

The Liam fight I vacillate on. I'm back to thinking the whole thing, or most of it, (the spelling, the suddenly too adult references) is a set up. Well, somebody else convinced me of that recently, several weeks after somebody else convinced me it wasn't.

The thing is, when I feel nice, I'm gonna be nice. When I feel grouchy, I'm gonna be grouchy. Being nice is so much more real than making nice.

I do look back with some bittersweet fondness on the time when Namo would attack me at any and every opportunity, much like Kato in the Pink Panther series.
