OK, I am obsessed with this program. I've been searching cities around the globe, looking at various monuments- Il Duomo, La Tour Eiffel, Taj Mahal.

It's amazing how detailed these satellite images are.

Oh. My. Gosh. This is incredible. Hours of amusement!

It's also a little scary how detailed it is. I looked up a dorm I lived in my junior year and it was even LABELED by name.

I love this!! I'm completely addicted to it. A few days ago, I was on it for probably 3 hours straight.

How old is your data?

Google Earth acquires the best imagery available, most of which is approximately one to two years old.

We recently launched our new Primary Database which includes:
- 15m imagery for the entire globe
- 90m terrain elevation mode data
- Updates to many US cities
- Major international expansion including, but not limited to, all major Canadian and Australian cities, Santiago, Buenos Aires, Rome, Naples, London, Luxembourg, Paris, Toulouse, Valencia, Barcelona, Lisbon, and Athens.

Is it all from the same time? I had thought two years because of the construction on the WWII memorial but then, at home, my 4 yr old apartment complex doesn't appear to be there!

ETA: I finally found it! The church beside it looks different and there are many more buildings and trees now. Plus, I haven't lived in the city for 8 months now--my memory is failing!

That thing is evil. I've spent countless hour looking at different conflict zone just because I can. The entire office is obsessed with the program. It's addicting.

Haha...I already had a program like that...but I had a friend call me about it early and demanded that I install it...I had a lovely time looking at my house from above.

I downloaded this out of curiousity, but something seems screwy. Every time I move my mouse over the thing I'm trying to look at, lines and shapes go all over. I can't really describe it well, but did anyone else have this problem?

Hah,

I love how all the detail in my city cuts off RIGHT before it gets to my house...i'm talking like three blocks. BUt I have already found all my friends houses and stuff.
