I love George Delareuse's (am i spelling his last name right?) scores from CRIMES OF THE HEART and STEEL MAGNOLIAS.
It's really beautiful music.

Even though it's a score, I love love LOVE A Beautiful Mind. I always listen to it when I'm working on a project or studying.

I can't believe no one has said Baz Luhrmann's Romeo and Juliet yet. One of the best film soundtracks ever. Both albums. They released a second one with more tracks, because the first one sold so well.

Also:

1) ET (basically anything by John Williams)
2) Garden State
3) Far and Away
4) Glory

So many great soundtracks. I love great film music. I don't want to repeat any so here are a few of my favorites, just off the top of my head, that haven't been mentioned yet:

Aaron Copland's The Red Pony
Elmer Bernstein's A Walk On The Wild Side
Laurence Rosenthal's The Miracle Worker
Bernard Herrmann's Fahrenheit 451
Leonard Bernstein's On The Waterfront
Antonio Carlos Jobim & Luiz Bonfa's Black Orpheus
Duke Ellington's Anatomy Of A Murder

There are literally hundreds of other great ones. This is not even mentioning European film scores--or other world cinema, of course.

Out of Africa. WOW
Barry Lyndon....Sarabande gives me chills.

I agree with Pleasantville and Somewhere In Time (both brilliant)

Loved Pricilla QOTD also.

VALLEY GIRL...the ultimate 80's soundtrack, where else could you hear the gloriousness that is Bonnie Hayes and the Wild Combo?

CLUELESS...the ultimate 90's soundtrack. What the hell happened to Lucsious Jackson, anyway?

And of course SINGLES..."Chloe Dancer" is so gorgeous!

"Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.” ~ Muhammad Ali
