DG--I forgot all about Eddie and the Cruisers! I wore out that cassette tape! "On the dark side! Oh yeahhhhh..."
That movie is my first memory of Ellen Barkin. Michael Pare was gorgeous.

Currently, BABEL.
The score aside, there are some absolutely fantastic songs on there either featured in the film or just inspired by the film. I really recommend it.

Posted: 2/5/07 at 2:53amThe movie was absolutely dreadful, but the background score for THE MADWOMAN OF CHAILLOT by Michael Lewis is stunning. It was the composer's first crack at a background score, and thank God the awfulness of that film didnt stop him from going on to a reasonably good career.

Posted: 2/5/07 at 7:18am... as much of it as actually got used. Remember, they recorded it and the producers took one listen and said no. They wound up using, I think, two songs. The Eurythmics wound up putting out a competing ST album that had all of their work, used and unused, on it.

Just about anything by Jerry Goldsmith or Thomas Newman.
A great soundtrack can really make or break moments in a movie...check out the recent director's cut of LEGEND with the rejected Jerry Goldsmith score, it doesn't quite make the movie work but its far more evocative than Tangerine Dream's score (which is good, too, but...)
