Im dying to know who will play Ida, the Eve Arden part. Hopefully the writers keep Ida as sharp. Love that character. It's a plum role.

I guess maybe because they were real-life camp figures who did their own thing, however unhygienic and self-destructive their own thing was. I don't really get it, either. I liked the musical fine, but when I saw the movie (the documentary, not the HBO movie) I was just grossed out and saddened.

One thing sort of...baffles me: 5 hours?? Really? I thought the point of pulp melodrama was to make it short, sweet and fat-free.
