Posted: 2/13/10 at 12:41pmI guess maybe because they were real-life camp figures who did their own thing, however unhygienic and self-destructive their own thing was. I don't really get it, either. I liked the musical fine, but when I saw the movie (the documentary, not the HBO movie) I was just grossed out and saddened.
