You're the Pres of your ITS Troupe, and you're a Jr? Our constitution says you have to Sr, though of course, that's just ours. I'm a Jr, and considering running for Pres next year in a couple of weeks. Just saying, didn't mean to thread-jack.
Oh, a song, yes. Well, we just finished with Les Miz (I need to update the av and sig), and when we were taking pictures of this year's very large and extremely talented Senior class, a couple of the underclassmen sang a tribute to them, different lyrics to "On My Own." A little corny, but sweet. Not that I'm suggesting you do that, but if you can't find anything else, it may be a last thought.
It's not traditionally a guy's song, of course, but maybe "What I Did For Love" might work.
What about 'I Sing the Body Electric' from Fame? maybe its too cliche.. the seniors at my friends hs sang that all together at the end of their theatre showcase and it was really nice. look up the lyrics, if you dont know them. theyre really lovely.
or.. hmm.. What I did for love? can be sung in a tenor range.. kind of corny though.
I feel like theres some sondheim number with a message along the lines of Our Time.. I cant put my finger on it though.
I will keep thinking. check out the first one though...
The Story Goes On from Baby. Although it is originally a girl's song, the lyrics are strikingly appropriate for goodbyes. And there are a couple of great high F's at the end. Great lyrics too.Good Luck!
