HOMOSEXUALITY???

Can anyone please explain to me why it is such a big deal. I hate how our society percieves it, and how our dumb-ass "so called" president is so unconstitutional about it. I guess it just doesn't make since to me. Being gay, I wish I could go throughout my day like everyone else, and not have to hear about such stupid issues...SORRY, im venting!

Okay...here is the deal...

Homosexuality has been around since the beginning of humanity. There was a time where it was looked as natural..well, a culture, i should say. Even Biblical characters have been speculated to have been gay (David (of Goliath fame)and Jonathan were a supposed couple). As for what the Bible says, it is a Pharecy (sp). God never made mention of this, otherwise, it would have been in the Ten Commandments. It was written, more as a moral code, and law (because it also says that they should be stoned to death)
Now, the problem with the President, is that he is of the Right Wing Christian Coalition. Those people worship the Bible. According to the Bible, homosexuality is wrong. Of course, that is how they percieve it.
Here's the thing, you are smarter and better than them. You know what's right. Don't ever let them, or anyone else get to you. It is a wonderful thing to be gay. Don't EVER let anyone tell you different. Our government is f*cked in many ways, and them telling us what is right and waht is wrong is one of the many f*cked up things in this country.
Be gay and be proud!

Regarding masculinity: Its because in this society boys are raised to be tough and not show any emotions besides anger and aggression. Anything thing that deviates from this is looked down upon because you are not conforming to what "men should be."

Listen, be glad this isn't Africa. Homosexuality is illegal there, and you can get up to 10 years in prison for being one. And in those ten years, you have to try and survive from other cellmates. So, most likely, you would be dead.

Well, the thing about the Bible is that there is much room for debate on what it really said--back when it was written, IN Hebrew. Translations are questionable. Many have argued that the Bible never addresses homosexuality, but does address rape, pedophilia, and adultery. And just looking at the difference between the King James and contemporary Bibles, you get that there are things lost in translation just within the English realm. The word "perversion" would be translated into "homosexuality" or some such--very biased translating.

And we grow up being told that the current translation is THE word of God. Well it may be--loosely. It is without question filtered through thousands of years and many languages of translation.

And even if it were EXACTLY the word of God, the ONLY truly damning verse is in Leviticus--amongst hundreds of laws that Christians do not follow today.

I highly recommend Stranger at the Gate by Mel White. Most of the attack of the GAY AGENDA is fear to get money. It's the same game that (some) churches used during the Cold War and are now using with terrorism. Send us money so that we can stop [insert source of fear] from destroying our families and America.

It's the whole man + woman = child = procreation thing. Some people can't look past the fact that (gasp!) not everyone is born to procreate. Some people are born attracted to (gasp!) the same sex. Because it doesn't fit the majority's way of life, it is automatically wrong, abnormal, and unacceptable. And it's very unfortunate that this is the current mindset of the world... in 200-f*cking-5.

I suggest that you look at today's teenagers. We see what this country and this world is becoming and we don't appreciate it.

Teenager's do not care if one is gay or not, they just want you to be honest. If you lie about who you are they will not respect you. This is why more and more gay teenagers are coming out to both their friends and their family, and they are being respected.

There will always be bigots in this world, sad but true. Just remember to be who you are.

The 700 Club is selling a bumper sticker similar to this. It has one of those "man" symbols they have on bathrooms + "woman" symbol = MARRIAGE. Yes, in all caps and bright red. People like this give other Christians a bad name.
