HOT REPUBLICANS

re: HOT REPUBLICANS

LOL. And this comes from the liberal party that worships Michael Moore (hardly the definition of beauty) as their poster child for thought.

You may not think we're hot, but we do have the power re: HOT REPUBLICANS

Rod, that sexy, sexy Puppet American!!!
But when did New Hampshire become--Such a backward wasteland of seatbelt hating crazies?...I mean, only 40 people actually live there. The others are just visitors who come for the tax-free liquor and three inches of novelty coastline. John Hodgeman on The Daily Show (1-30-07)

re: HOT REPUBLICANS

Power's everything, innit?
I know I, for one, thank god every day for bringing us George W. Bush.
Amazing how a guy who gets a little fellatio in office is seen as the worst president ever but a president who lies continuously about the reasons for invading a country (REGARDLESS of the outcome; the end does not always justify the means), destroys what little budget surplus we had and generates a record deficit all while swearing that giving us more tax cuts and allowing us to gamble our retirement money on the stock market will help the economy and help the deficit is considered a moral, righteous and good man.
Go power. I wonder if Congress will be passing the George W. Bush as dictator bill anytime soon?

re: HOT REPUBLICANS

lol. Keep telling yourself whatever it takes to get yourself through the day Bwaysinger. You don't seem to mind when your idle declared war on Iraq for also having WMD's. The majority of the world believed there were WMD's in Iraq - however, you can only sinlge out one individual who thought that, and of course lied about it. Too funny.

re: HOT REPUBLICANS

It's also a shame you have such little faith in your ability to invest your own money in the stock market. I'll take the average 10% earnings in the stock market over time compared to the dismal 1% social security earnings anytime.

re: HOT REPUBLICANS

The majority of people thought it because that's what this sham of an administration was promoting. The fish stinks from the head.

re: HOT REPUBLICANS

Chicago, show me where the net earnings on the playing the Stock Market are 10%. I daresay there are far more losers in the stock market than winners.
I would prefer both, my friend. And, guess what? Our current system does that! In fact, the government was so progressive and willing to work with these newfangled methods of making money that they made money you invest in things such as 401(k) accounts tax free! GO figure!
So, guess what? I'll take the minor amount that social security will give me and trust that the additional money I'm putting into a mutual fund will reap dividends.
Also, you are very funny to say Clinton declared war on Iraq. There are SO many reasons we could discuss why his actions were completely different from our current president's.
But you seem a bright man, surely you don't need to have the difference pointed out to you?
And, for the record, I wasn't putting Clinton on a pedestal. But to demonize a man for a person act of indiscretion that hurt no one but the parties involved and to hero worship a cowboy-minded gunslinger who swore up and down during his original campaign that he wasn't interested in nation-building and who has now given us years of financial hardship (because god knows after the mess we've been making we can't just pull out any old time) is just ridiculous.
I tend to judge my presidents by what they do for this country, not their personal habits. I don't even care that Dubya was once a big fat ol' lush who had to use his personal connections to get out of jail time and fines. See, that's in the past. All I care about is what he's doing with my country and my tax dollars.
And none of that, my friend, is hot.

re: HOT REPUBLICANS

I think it's hot to be able to keep more of my money and invest my own social security. And the long-term earnings in the stock market have been 10% or more since the beginning of time with very few exceptions - I know the stock market very well. Since it's my money, I want to be able to take the risk.

It's so fun getting liberals all hot and angry lol.

re: HOT REPUBLICANS

Hey Chicago, I'm not hot and angry. More like sad that you're seriously foolish enough to believe that this could work.
Then again, the Republican party has showed its colors over the years as being more and more about "my money is my money" and their sense of civic duty extends to making sure that the men on Wall St. make more money (hence, the privatization of SS).
But explain this to me, how will privatizing SS help it in any way? Unless by help you mean eliminate, cutting funds to the program as well as cutting benefits is just going to be more of the same. It's not a solution, it's a completely different system.
SO, Bush would be far more honest to call it Social Security elimination.

re: HOT REPUBLICANS

CBF... I don't know why you're always under the mistaken assumption that what you have to say is getting anyone all "hot and angry". I find you amusing. Actually, quite silly. It's really impossible for me to take you seriously. You haven't had one intelligent thing to contribute to this subject or this board since you joined. You're almost cartoonish. Tell me... do you honestly feel personally empowered with Dubya in charge? Really? Because unless you're the owner of a major corporation, or a Wall Street tycoon, that's no doubt another mistaken assumption you're under.

re: HOT REPUBLICANS

the HILARIOUS thing will be when Bushies like Chicago find out that the government isn't going to give them their private accounts as they want them. Nope--when you retire, the government will dish out the SAME amount that you would have gotten from regular social security every month!!!!

re: HOT REPUBLICANS

Bush has already achieved one of his goals, bankrupting the US so badly that most social programs will have to be cut, why would it bother him if social security was eliminated also?

re: HOT REPUBLICANS

LOL Ah, Curtain has resorted to the put-downs again. How bold!

re: HOT REPUBLICANS

The reason social security is broke today is that the politicians have been spending it on pork for decades, and not keeping it set aside for the sole purpose it's intended. My social security in my name is my money and my investment - the way it should be.

re: HOT REPUBLICANS

LOL I love the idea of Bush burning for his crimes...the nazi that he is should go to some sort of hell for all the deaths he's caused! Oh just kidding...I hope he only goes to purgatory. LOL LOL you know, I'm glad that my liberal ass doesn't let any of this cr@p rile me up LOL!!

re: HOT REPUBLICANS

CBF... What I'd really like to know is, what drew you to a Broadway message board in the first place? I mean are you even interested in Broadway or Theatre? I've had the "pleasure" of reading your thoughts and opinions on everything from Conservative Politics to Reality T.V. to Online Dating Services, but I've yet to come across one post on anything even remotely related to the performing arts. Maybe I'm missing something, but you certainly bear an uncanny resemblance to a former BWW poster who shared similar views and interests. And coincidentally (I'm sure), you even inhabit the same city. Hmmmmmmmm.

re: HOT REPUBLICANS

Curtain, I've made numerous posts on Broadway-related topics - especially regarding All Shook Up, Mamma Mia, Phantom of the Opera, and Movin Out. I am a huge fan of Broadway, and have great respect for the actors who make it happen (but not always for their liberal views re: HOT REPUBLICANS)

re: HOT REPUBLICANS

And since I don't live and breath Broadway, I will most often post off-topic regarding Project Runway, etc. etc.

re: HOT REPUBLICANS

curtainup2,
the model in your recent post is a great example of the opposite of a hot republican. LOL.

re: HOT REPUBLICANS

Well CBF... perhaps you'd like to share those NUMEROUS Broadway related posts with us by providing their links. Because I just concluded a search on everything you've posted since you joined on Christmas Eve (kinda sad, in and of itself re: HOT REPUBLICANS ), and I only found one post where you name your favorite songs from Mama Mia, Movin' Out, and All Shook Up. Coincidentally, all "juke-box" musicals, whose music would be familiar to anyone, Broadway savvy or not.
