A friend just e-mailed this to me and I thought it was a lot of fun.
It's the Turtle Creek Chorale (a male chorus out of the Dallas area) version of "Hallelujah Chorus" and their creative captioning for the hearing impaired:

Very cute.
I saw the First Baptist Church of Houston do the same thing (in theirs, the signs were held by monks who had "taken a vow of silence") several years ago. It was part of the very lavish Christmas show they put on every year.

Posted: 7/3/07 at 5:37pmI love that when the signs went up high for the second time, everyone laughed just in anticipation of the guy having to jump up again.

You should see it live in a sold-out Meyerson Symphony Center! What a crowd-pleaser!
As a side note, Dr. Tim Seelig, who brought this gem to the Turtle Creek Chorale, is retiring after 20 years as Artistic Director. He will be joining the staff of Hope for Peace & Justice, a ministry of the Cathedral of Hope. He is creating a program called Art for Peace & Justice, which will enlist artists across the county to become ambassadors and educators, prophets and priests, for social transformation.

Posted: 7/4/07 at 8:58amI can't stop watching this! It's performed with such joy, and it reminds me of all my good memories performing Messiah - including when my high school sang it in Carnegie Hall under Dr. John Rutter! Hallelujah...
