All right, Babe, I warned you that it was coming. It’s your birthday. It’s one of the few excuses I have all year to say mushy, gushy, disgustingly sweet, but true things about you.
I think you have an inkling of how much I respect and adore you, but you could use a reminder every now and then, especially when you’re so far away.
You are one of the warmest, most thoughtful and caring people I know. And I am constantly amazed by the depths of your friendship and love. I’ve never known anyone that gets as big a thrill out of making other happy, as you do.
Of all your many gifts and talents, one of the most impressive is your ability to see and accept people as they are, even when they’re hard to read and have a tendency to hide.
And yet, you also have the self-control, kindness and generosity never to call people out on their faults. No matter how tempting.
I love your wicked sense of humor, your dirty mind and how you can dance all over the line without ever crossing it.
I could keep going until I’ve made everyone lose their lunch, but I won’t. I’ll just leave you with the fact that I am forever grateful to you and for you.
Love Always,
G
Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; begin it well and serenely and with too high a spirit to be enbered with your old nonsense. ~ Emerson
