Today is miss Kerr's 84th birthday! She is one of my all-time favorite actresses, and I will be celebrating her birthday by watching "The King And I", "The Sundowners", and "An Affair To Remember".
Here's to this fantastic lady!!
"Oh, it's nobody's fault but my own! I was looking up... it was the nearest thing to heaven! You were there... "
Happy Birthday to one of the greats!

One of my favorite moments in film history - and possibly my favorite costume!
His or hers?

Addy - LOL - I thought about that after I posted it! I would actually WEAR his, but it's her dress that I thought was absolutely flawless - especially in motion!
and, who among us hasn't danced around their living room to that song?
DG, I love that dress as well...and the scene is wonderful, of course.
This calls for some pink champagne!

My gosh, that dress in motion is divine. And the color is so unique as well - don't you think? It works beautifully with her lovely red hair.
Happy Birthday to one of the great women of the stage!
And who among us has NOT said to some sweet young, willowy thing:
"Years from now, when you talk about this--and you will!--be kind."
I can't watch that movie without sobbing...
Umm, kissmycookie.... That is Maureen O'Hara in "The Parent Trap". I know this for sure since she is my *other* favorite actress besides Deborah Kerr
Oh and "An Affair To Remember" always makes me cry. Always.
thanks for posting the GORGEOUS photos. Small House of Uncle Thomas is about the most perfect thing on film for me. i can watch it again and again and still feel that frisson.

Happy Birthday, Deborah Kerr! She's one of the classiest, most elegant actresses. My favorite is The Night of the Iguana. Am I a bad Deborah Kerr fan if I've never seen An Affair to Remember? Or am I just a bad person in general?
Ah, "The Night Of The Iguana"....She was so good in that one. Then again, she was always good!
Well, "Affair" DOES have a cultish status...And it presents Deborah in one of her best on-screen relationships - With Cary Grant of course. You're not a bad fan...but you should see it, if only to enjoy these two together. They're fantastic.
I've just counted... I've seen 40 out of her 52 movies. Impressive, but not enough.
"you're so MERMAN ... you're so ROSALIND RUSSELL ... and i'm so DEBORAH KERR ..."
"oh, i love her!"
ok, maybe this quote should be on the julie thread ... sorry ...
cturtle!
You beat me to it. (I love it!)
Happy Birthday DK.
And there's THE CHALK GARDEN.
