I do believe she's having a fine time. She checked in for five minutes in the midst of her fourth day of celebration. You heard me. FOURTH.
Yeah, I'm jealous.

thanks everyone for your good wishes...
i had an amazing time. sunday we had brunch & bowl with friends.
sunday night we went to see stritch in her last show (for this round) at the carlyle.
monday night (Halloween!) we had pre-theater dinner at the four seasons (i had an enormous mound of cotton candy with a candle peaking over the top) and then went to sweeney todd (they were kind enough to upgrade our seats to row 5) and we sat with a bunch of the kids from spelling bee (i love that handsome jose) there was such a buzz in the air and the place was packed. the audience just went nuts and loved the show. we didn't go backstage--there was such a crush at the door and the noise in the street from the crowds and tour busses was DEAFENING. after the show we had drinks in the amazing 35th floor lobby bar of the mandarin oriental (overlooking central park and the new fountain at columbus circle --you have to go at night--it reminds me of rome -- but less crowded) such a beautiful, clear night we walked home. on my b-day we did a bunch of spa stuff at exhale and had dinner at daniel, which is honestly too rich for me. after sitting in the serenity of the pool room at the 4 seasons --anything else is anti-climactic for me.
ann is performing at the jazz standard on monday night -- and the cover price ($20) is quite low. this is a special performance --if you've always wanted to see ann --this is a perfect opportunity. liz is special guest of lea salonga at carnegie hall on the same night--but it's a zillion dollars
