Because of f*cking BLOOD BROTHERS, I do not put shoes on any tables.
I'm an idiot.

When I see a funeral procession, I have to touch something white to ward off the death spirit. Or something.
Robbiej, you're not an idiot and Matt_G, I am guessing that those are the only kinds of tails you don't like touching.....

I do my best to avoid walking under ladders
I never make the kind of statement like Joe Hardy in Damn Yankees, or in any movie where someone sells their soul...

Posted: 8/13/04 at 12:00pmI can't set my alarm to a rounded time. It must be something random. For example, this summer, my alarm has been set to 6:19. I can't set it to times like 6:15 or 6:20 or 6:30. It also can't be set to a palindromic (word?) time such as 6:16. I know, I'm weird....it started a LONG time ago when I was in 6th or 7th grade (I will be a senior in college this year).

Finn -- that's a good one....
Even though I have not gone to Mass in decades and the fact that I fly over 100,000 miles a year, I always bless myself and say a Hail Mary every take off -- as if THAT would help...
Oh, you can take the boy out of the church, but you can’t take the church out of the boy....

I hold my breath when walking in front of a funeral home.
Nothing white goes on the head... it's a sign of mourning.

I'm a big "knock on wood" girl.
Other than that, I have no superstitions.
Just really ****ty friday the thirteenths.

I never like saying 'gl' in any situation, but the theater has taught me that. I still don't know what to say in certain situations, because I don't think that "Break a leg" works for a job interview.
I knock on wood, about 20 times, I have a rhythym that I continually knock every time I need to.
If anyone talks about ghosts in my house, I have to acknowledge them (I always talk to them for a second) because there seriously are spirits in our house, the relatives always hang around. I'm scared to talk bad about our family with them in the house- they've already broken every machine.

Posted: 8/13/04 at 12:16pmOh yes, and I ALWAYS hold my breath when passing a graveyard.
#16re: Happy Friday the 13th, and in honor..
Posted: 8/13/04 at 12:17pmJust hope the graveyard isn't several blocks long!

They have been sometimes and it sucks.
I also have to touch metal when I go over traintracks. I have no idea where that one comes from, though.

Yes, but for some reason I am extremely superstitious and don't like saying it at all.
And "Macbeth" is another one. Hoo boy, it was hilarious when my English class was analyzing the play.

Posted: 8/13/04 at 12:25pmI'm a huge wood-knocker. I also never say good luck before a show to someone, it's bad luck. And I'm superstitious about karma, I believe it all comes back to bite you, so you have to watch what you do to people.

Posted: 8/13/04 at 12:35pmMy superstition is watching (or reading) the safety features before takeoff on every flight. It's bad luck NOT to pay attention to the flight attendant or the video, even though it's been the same for so many years and I have it all memorized by now. It's my way of protecting myself on a flight. (Sounds kinda silly, but it gives me comfort)

And "macbeth" never comes out of my mouth in theatre. Only last year in english would it.

I knock on wood. (And yes, three times, of course.)
That's about it.
Oh, and I say "Break a leg" versus "Good luck" cuz for me, "good luck" is bad luck!

If I fly... my childhood teddy bear needs to be in my carry on. That's gotten some looks as security goes through my briefcase. Now that I'm 26, they always pat down the bear.
I figure I've flown 10's of thousands of miles with that bear nearby... why change something that works.

I also knock on wood (3 times). I used to hold my breath when going by a cemetary but then I moved in across the street from one so it became pointless. And I was born on Friday the 13th
So I'll never have good luck as long as I live... or for that matter when I die either.
