I always bite my tongue before jinxing myself.
I NEVER say good luck to my cast/crewmates before a show! When my mom does I yell at her.

Posted: 8/13/04 at 2:07pmIs it bad to have a show tonight? The past three shows I have done, the power has been out on opening night...including this show last week. I really hope nothing happens tonight.

The breathholding outside graveyards and the touching of white to ward off spirits of death...are those traditions taught to you by grandparents, etc? I guess I'm wondering if there is a generational or cultural basis for them. I've never heard of them.
Me...I wanted to be a mortician when I was in high school and I love, love, love cemeteries. They are so peaceful. And, as kids we used to play hide-n-seek in one at night. Great hiding places with a super-big monument up on a platform which made the perfect home base. I like to think that the dead were happy to have laughing children around their final resting place.
Superstitions??? I'll have to think of some...hmmm

Posted: 8/13/04 at 3:50pmI never tell people "good luck", I never say "Macbeth" in a theater (hell, I don't even like to say it anywhere) and I have a thing with even numbers (such as, I can't set my alarm for 6:35. It's got to be 6:36 or 6:40).

Would setting your clock at LEAST 20 minutes ahead be a superstitious gesture?
(I hate it when guests come into my house and change all the clocks.

Never say Macbeth ever, theatre or not. Did a prodution of Pippin. Someone (who thinks their opinion is the only one there is and everyone has to agree) was saying that it is a stupid superstition. Then he proceeded to say "macbeth, macbeth, macbeth". That night, a girl had a seizure after Magic to Do. Coincidence, i think not.
I punch the roof of my car while driving through a yellow/orange light.
Hold breathe while passing cemetery. (it sucks if you are stuck at a red light.)

Finn, you are killing me with the 6:19 thing. Its not something obsessive but I hate odd numbers. I cant put odd numbers on the microwave. I can deal with 5s but 19.. its just ugly to me or something. Is anyone else like that? I have meet one other person that feels the same way.
Edit: Rose! thank you. I am glad someone else does get the even thing.
