Today, on my FB feed, I discovered that the 1961 documentary, The Rejected, the first of its kind about the subject of homosexuality, has been found and somewhat restored. Alas, the section featuring Margaret Mead is shoddy. I did a very quick search of this board and found nothing, so I hope this isn't a redundant post.
At any rate, I'm including a link here so you can watch it at your leisure or, like me, instead of doing work. The Mattachine men are interesting, discussing how the 'swish' is the stereotype most people know, but that most gay men and woman are just normal, hardworking people. It's a little depressing that this particular talking point has survived for nearly 55 years, but there you have it. It's rather remarkable, and I encourage you to make time to view this.
