Hope everyone has lots of luck today! My senior prom is today. "Luck of the Irish." Nice, right?
I'm wearing my kelly green "Flogging Molly" t-shirt in solidarity with my Irish bruthas.
Holla!

I feel especially attached to this day today because I am currently playing Irish in a show I am doing. Having a hard time with the accent, but I'm loving it.
Happy St. Patrick's, BWW.
Have a wonderfully GREEN day.
(I feel like I just made a Wicked reference...)
Wishing everyone a happy day!
May you always have
Walls for the winds,
A roof for the rain,
Tea beside the fire,
Laughter to cheer you,
Those you love near you,
And all your heart might desire!

May St. Patrick guard you wherever you go
and guide you in whatever you do.
And may his loving protection
be a blessing to you always.
May you have love that never ends,
lots of money, and lots of friends.
Health be yours, whatever you do,
and may God send many blessings to you!
May you have:
A world of wishes at your command.
God and his angels close to hand.
Friends and family their love impart,
and Irish blessings in your heart!
May the road rise to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back,
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
The rains fall soft upon your fields and,
Until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.
May you alway walk in sunshine.
May you never want for more.
May Irish angels rest their wings right beside your door.
HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY!

Had my oatmeal, I'm wearing my green eyes with a green shirt to match and am looking for Pogues tickets on Craigs List.
Have a great one.
I actually neglected to wear green today, though I do have on my claddagh ring. HAPPY SAINT PATRICK'S DAY!
Ashley, you have your senior prom in MARCH?? Isn't that kinda early?

How sweetly lies old Ireland
Emerald green beyond the foam
Awakening sweet memories

Just stay away from the parade, you neo-Nazi, KKK-loving prostitutes.

exactly.....gays of Irish descent, gay veterans, or just any gays CANNOT march, yet dogs and cats can......makes me feel REALLY special......
what I do miss about this day is seeing the Chicago River "go green"
Well, then I will only share my green beer and Jamieson's Whiskey with a select few!
I don't know if she's Irish or not - but I thought this lovely medieval lady cat in her green gown seemed appropriate. I've adopted her as my avatar for the day in honor of all those who are Irish in birth, spirit, or affectation!
Here is on of my favs.....
"May those who love us, love us.
And may those who don't,
may God turn their hearts.
And if does not turn their hearts,
may he yurn their ankles.
So that we mat know them,
by their limping!"
And as Judy sings:
It's a Great Day for the Irish,
It's a great day for the fair!
The sidewalks of New York are thick with blarney,
For sure you'd think of New York was ol' Killarney!
It's a great day for the shamrock,
For the flag's in full array.
We're feeling so inspirish,
Sure because for all the Irish,
It's a great, great, day!
Begosh and begorrah!
Ev'ry Irish son and daughter,
Ev'ry good old Irish name and his relation...
They come from Tipperary,
Donnegal and County Kerry.
And they all are here to join the celebration.
Now there's
Terrance O'Toole and his cousin, Phil Daugherty
Patrick O'Vogel and Mullin McGrew
Mike Maley, Tim Daly, and Barney O'Flaherty
Danny O'Doole and there's Shamus Carew!
Connollys, Donnellys and Padrick O'Bannigan
Ryans, O'Briens, McLaughlins, and Lynch.
McGloohins, McFaddens
And Mister Pat Flannagan,
Hogans and Glogans,
McPhersons and Finch!
Cowans, McGowans,
And Kerricks and Garricks,
Mahoneys, Maloneys, O'Donnells, O'Connells
Are here to join the jubilee!

Mom, you beat me too it! I was going to post that myself! Anyway, much love to all who find a reason to celebrate today - or even a reason to smile!
Has always been a favorite grizzabella!! And very sage advice to live by.
I'm not at all Irish, but my (real-life) children are.
So I guess I have to acknowledge it in some way.
I know, we can all get stinking drunk together. Maybe I can take pictures and Tiff can change her av to show my kids throwing back the brewskis. (Is that how you spell "brewskis"?Never touch the stuff myself. Ew.)

I'm Irish on my father's mother's side...and I think I have Scot-Irish on my mom's. I should probably wear a combination of green and orange.

I always wear a touch of orange with my green. My maternal grandparents were both born in Ireland and I discovered a great, great grandmother on my dad's side who had been born in Belfast. That threw me over the half way point and I wear the orange in honor of her!
