Happy Valley Drama Series BBC

I took a sick day today and have had the first series of Happy Valley sitting on my computer for quite some time so decided to finally check it out. It won the BAFTA this past year for Best Drama Series. If had to sum it up in one word it would be Intense. Curious if anyone else has seen it. I was told Netflix has picked it up here. Series 2 started airing last week. First series has 6 episodes and assume the second will as well.

First two episodes of Series 2 don't disappoint willep. Now sad to say all caught up.

I keep meaning to watch this at some point, because I loved "Last Tango In Halifax", from the same writer. I know this is very different, though. It's nice to see Sarah Lancashire as the lead too, after supporting roles in Last Tango and The Paradise.

Season 2 is about 2 episodes in in the UK, so I can't see Netflix getting it until it's finished airing...

Sally Wainwright, who writes the entire show, is getting a lot of love from UK tv critics--she also writes the tonally completely different family drama Last Tango in Halifax with Derek Jacobi.

I loved Last Tango in Halifax as well.The only things in common between Last Tango in Halifax and Happy Valley is Sarah Lancashire and Sally Wainwright.

I'm hoping they don't decide to Americanize this with Edie Falco or something along those lines that they tried with Broadchurch. Also as of tonight 3 of the 6 episodes of series 2 have aired in the UK. So if Netflix picks it up as soon as this series finishes it is possible it could air by the end of March.
