I thought it was okay. The performances were strong, but something was lacking. I pretty much agree with the LA Times review.

Looks like it truly is September 19th! At least for the US.

NY Times shows that as the "street" date.

And a poster (planetfunk) on "Hard Candy's" IMDB page shared this info:

Lionsgate has announced Hard Candy to be released on DVD September 19th.

And we can now pre-order "Hard Candy" via Amazon.com for the 9/19/06 US DVD release.

Folks outside the US may want to check to see the format of this release and if it will work on their player

I don't remember seeing this interview with Hard Candy's director, David Slade. Some interesting comments and also mentions taping the commentaries for the DVD.

Ok...just saw this on DVD.

Very creepy and disturbing. But excellently done.

However, I'm watching the movie, and she gets out the glasses to get a drink, and I'm thinking "hey, those are my glasses from Ikea!". And then the movie progresses, and I'm thinking "I'm never drinking out of those Ikea glasses again!"...LOL

I saw it recently. Absolutely dreadful. Patrick Wilson is such a cipher, all he is really capable of playing is a victim, even in as contrived a circumstance as the one in Hard Candy. Everything about his countenance invites physical assault. Joe Pitt. William Travis. Jeff Kohlver. He is null and void.
