That's true. I just hope that Harry, assuming he'll live, will at least "graduate" from Hogwarts somehow.
HBP's title was announced in December I think (cause that's when I pre-ordered it...and I did it right away).
Here's a question my sister asked me that I didn't know the answer to. It's probably pretty obvious, but I can't think of anything right now. Her question was, "How can Voldemort ever really die when he(through Quirrell) drank the unicorn's blood. Isn't that supposed to ensure immortality?" Anyone know the answer?

I can't say that I can answer this.
he would have to keep drinking the unicorn blood to continue living. It's kind of like the elixer from the sorcerers stone

"I feel like there were terrorism hints, especially near the end. "
Did anyone else find the "grim mood around London" and all those things in the 1st chapter chilling considering what happened in London recently? Couldn't have been planned, as the books were printed before the attacks happened, but the correlation is chilling to me.
I hope book 7 is dark and as long as it needs be. I hated the fact that this book felt...overedited to a degree. I loved her semi-rambles that had not too much to do with the plot, that was what made the world special! I hope she does it more in Book 7.

I thought the same thing. The timing was almost perfect.
That definitely crossed my mind - quite eerie.
I read that she felt that book 5 was to long. Perhaps this could have been why this one was so short? Trying to make up for a mistake she thinks she made in The Order of the Phoenix?
I am sure this was a major issue when she was writing it; however, I am one of the believers that think it should be as long (or short) as it needs too. Okay so you think the fifth book rambled a bit, the sixth book is a seperate entity and should be as long as it has too.
I was not extremely upset when Dumbledore died mostly because I did not believe it to be true. Second time around, I knew it was true so I was much more emotional than the first read through.

Man, I need to read it again. If the 2nd time around is even more powerful, then I'm gonna need a hellofalot of tissues!

*psh* The books could each be the size of several phone books and I still wouldn't be satisfied.

I'd rather read Harry Potter for ten hours straight instead of eight hours.

Oh my God run away, CQT! Run away! While you still can! From metaquotes alone it's pretty clear the Harry Potter fandom is completely and utterly insane.
there are over 15,000 fanfics i believe... just on fanfiction.net alone! it was really scary.... no one reviews either, which is depressing. i used to write School Rock ones (and id put musical references in and since everyone who read where "eh punk" they would all be like: hmm and i'd be like "YAY COMPANY!") anywho some of the harry potter stuff is cute, but most is cliched and trashy while even more of it is just unreadable.
I am kind of scared to read some Harry Potter fanfiction, yet I am still intrigued. Anyone know some good sites with them?
www.fanfiction.net
that would be my bet for the best... unless you want something specific.
i just posted an HP fanfic... its my first one...
it's hard to go from established and well known writer on one topic (school of rock) to just another wannabe in the over crowded Harry Potter realm...
sorry for ranting

Nonono. Fanfiction.net is called the Pit of Voles for a reason. Try a specialized archive or a LiveJournal community instead.
Also, speaking of the HP terrorism connection, we're not the only ones seeing it:

I just can't help hoping that Snape and Dumbledore pre-planned Dumbledore's death.
Snape has always been one of the most complex and interesting characters, and I just can't accept the fact that he might truly be on Voldemort's side.
If it turns out he truly is back to his Death Eater days, I hope he redeems himself in Book 7 by sacrificing his life for Harry or something.
And, also, Rowling left SO much that needs to be tied up in Book 7 I don't see how it can be any less than a few thousand pages.
yeah- i thought that everything would be pretty much tied together by the end of book 7
And I am also on the side that hopes for a not-so-completely happy ending. That would be lame.
And how MAD would all the fans be if Rowling made Voldemort the victor in the inevitable showdown between he and Harry?

What needs to happen in Book 7?
The defeat or victory of Voldemort.
The future of Hogwarts is determined.
We find out why Dumbledore trusted Snape.
The downfall or redemption of Malfoy.
Bill and Fleur get married. Also Tonks and Lupin?
Harry and Ginny resolve their relationship somehow.
What else?
Well, I feel that finding all of the remaining Horcruxes will have to take a LARGE chunck of the book.
