this is about Sherri on the View today. I sure hope she didn't say what I thought I heard her say.

She was criticizing Heide Montag for having 10 plastic surgeries, and her main beef was that she's "erasing her family's genes." She said that her family has big chins, and now Heidi erased her big chin. And now - what are her kids going to look like?

The slight point that Sherri might have unintentionally made with that comment is I think a really sick dynamic that has played out in the Joan and Melissa Rosenberg Rivers story. From the earliest days of her career Joan trashed her own looks, saying she was a real bow-wow, that the ob-gyn took one look at her at birth and slapped her mother.

Then Melissa was born and looked just like her, pre-surgery. Imagine the pressure that put on Melissa. I know Sherri actually thinks Heidi's genes have been erased, but this is one way in which it could be interpreted by, you know, somebody who knows a thing or two.

I did consider that, Namo. She may have had a point if that was what she meant. But I"m not sure. I guess I shouldn't have commented on it, but I get a pass because that's only one of a plethora of idiotic statements that woman makes daily!

But the difference is that Joan Rivers, and now Melissa, was and is a pretty ugly dog, while Heidi wasn't.
