It's because he had her "whisper" the part of Mrs. Lovett. This is just a delayed reaction that piece-of-crap direction he gave her.

Honestly, and I can only speak of how it looked to me on their joint interviews, but I never thought he treated her well in public. His manner toward her seemed cold and distant, often indifferent as well. I noticed it a lot.

He expressed his love through other outlets. I've been a huge Burton and Bonham Carter fan for awhile now. I have some books of Burtons art and it's adorable how he expressed himself to her.

As for the interviews: Some people just don't like showing that love-y affection in front of people. They were always photographed in the tabloids holding hands and such.

Man. I wish them both look in future endeavors! I'm kind of excited to see what Helena will have on her plate for acting in the future!

But Branagh did teach Carter how to act, but he never looked like he was gonna be an "A" lister. then there was Thor.

I didn't expect him to be lovey dovey with her in a public interview. Just maybe act likes she's in the room, like he did with other actors.

But I'm glad to hear he expressed his love for her in "other ways."

And I'm sorry the relationship didn't work. They were together many years.

Serves her right. HBC broke up Branagh and Thompson (who were married for six years) while he directed her in Mary Shelley's Frankenstein.

Later, she dumped Branagh for Burton and broke up him and Lisa Marie (his girlfriend of 8 years and fiancee of several) while he directed her in Planet of the Apes.

Despicable woman.

My thoughts exactly. She and Branagh probably had some alone time together off-set and she convinced him to take her to where he was sleeping at night. They've done it before. LOL
