Recently in English class, we read a translation of Beowulf including Grendel coming to Herot and Beowulf fighting/killing Grendel. Now for an English assignment, we have to give Beowulf a modern day job, as well as Grendel, and make up a "Herot." The story is going to be like a modern day telling of Beowulf using different characters. Someone is already doing George Bush/Saddam Hussein. I am in a total rut - any ideas on who could be my Grendel and Beowulf.

I haven't thought of "Beowulf" properly since I read Grendel. Hey, did you read the Saemus Heaney translation? I was wondering if that's good.
