Posted: 5/17/14 at 4:01pmJust watched the film for the first time the other night and thought it was one of the most beautiful films about love I've ever seen. Scarlett Johansson isn't even onscreen and she gives, in my opinion, one of the best performances of her career. Joaquin Phoenix is brilliant as well. I'm still shocked that this came from Jackass's Spike Jonze.

So just tell us who you were so we can all just get on with our lives.
Newbies asking certain things always brings up a red flag.

If you've been reading the site, you know we have been plagued with trolls to just go on to create new characters and screen names. Log in and raise havoc. Often times falling into the exact same patterns of behavior. Ergo the rudeness.
ETA: If I disappear and return, it will be as Hugh Jackman's Jock Strap. Just saying.

Nahhh, I don't think so, Namo. Sometimes you are direct. Mostly you're even pretty funny. But in this case, the person posted about a movie he/she loved, expressed that sentiment, and I'm guessing it was meant to get responses about the movie. Your post was not about the movie, it was pretty antagonizing. While "direct," it's also...uncalled for. Sorry.
I thought the movie was beautiful too, for anyone who wants to stay on topic. I especially liked noticing that the wardrobe and production design mostly depicted a subtle warmth, as opposed to what we might have expected to see in a movie rooted in "advanced technology." In contrast, when Joaquin's character was sad that the OS seemingly "left" him for a couple of weeks (for over 500 other...computer owners, thus giving him the feeling that she'd cheated on him), his clothes and the lighting around him was blue, and stark. Then when they made up, everything was red, orange, and warm, again. #subtlemovietricks
Pretty neat. And yes, the performances were great. Even that small role by Olivia Wilde, on his date with her. She was one of those actresses you kind of love to hate because she's so beautiful, but she was an actual *actress* in this one.
