I am thrilled that it exists and has provided the opportunity to explore a wide range of topics with an expansive demographic range. We're still getting our feet wet, I think, but I look forward to having the opportunity to discuss, and yes...even argue about, a multitude of issues in the coming year.
Here, here. I mean who knew that show queens were so damned opinionated about everything else? Having said that, I still think Dean should have Hugh Jackman for his running mate. (And the Imperial usher should be Secretary of Defense.)

Morning coffee this close >< to being spit at screen, Auggie! Good one.
Pretty soon I'm just going to bookmark the Off-Topic board. I lost interest in finding out how to get Idina's autograph about a gazajillion years ago.
But what about the endless lists of your favorite shows? Songs? Which celebs are nice to their fans? Are these not important and relevant issues to be explored in more detail?
Like I said when the boards were first split and it seems to have come true; the on topic board would become just an endless list making board, a place to bring up teh same topics every few weeks and the people who B#*ched the most about the need for an off topic board would be the first to stop posting the relevent, on topic stuff.
I love this board. it gives an opprotunity to talk about otehr issues and, the on topic board is great when someone comes up with a thread that is different, interesting and doesn't mention Millie, Taboo or Rent.

Can we call those shows "Tabillient" for brevity's sake from now on? Or "Tabillickedent?"
I like Tabillickedent better.
yeah, i agree. tabillient sounds too much like awemazing. although, as a new adjective it is pretty snazzy.

You're right, it sounds like something Dr. Smith would say to the Robot on Lost in Space, "Silence, you tabillient tub of electronic tubery!"
eventually i will learn to sip the coffee only after i've read the new posts...where are my damn paper towels!

Great one!
But ... I mean, what if Sutton decides, to, like, exteeeeend her contract! Shouldn't we be decent enough, human enough to just send flowers!? (Does anybody have a favorite florist?) I mean, really, isn't that allowed here, too?! Just some fans to gather outside the Marquis stage door to tell someone THAT talented, who gives SOOOOO much eight-- well, SIX, o-KAY! Sometimes 5 times a week--but four, five, WHATEVER! That's a lot! -- how inCREdible she is??? Come ONNNNN, what's your problem, guys???! We're not talking about, you know, Britney Spears, we're talking about SUUUUUTON.
Hey, Auggie, that is SO not Off Topic. I mean, Sutton rocks and all, but...
Forget Sutton, Idina is the new queen of Broadway. Her talent is sooooo amazing. She rocks. She is a broadway legend. She is my very favorite actress. I waited by the syage door and met her 14 times. She's so sweet and amazing when she meets her fans. She signed autographs, I have 14 Playbills signed by her, one for each time I met her. She took pictures, I have about twenty that I'll be posting here soon as I get a scanner. I don't think there has ever been anyone on Broadway who sings and acts as good as Idina and I can remember way back to the old days of when Rent first came out.
The day the Wicked CD came out iw as first in line at Tower and was soooo EXCITED!!! because I got the very first one out of the box. I've listened to Defting Gravity so much I'm starting to wear out the cd. That song is so awesome, it's the greatest song in Broadway history. I so identify with it. I can almost feel myself flying and defying gravity whenever I listen to it.
My mom and dad are taking me to see Wicked again this weekend, it's my Christmas present. I'm gonna bring green roses to Idina. Do you think she'll like them? Do you think i should ask her for one of her headshots? I might invite her to come to dinner with me and my parents. I love her sooooooo much. She rocks.
I can't wait to see Wicked sweep the Tonys. If Idina doesn't win for best actress I'm gonna cry, I swear. If she doesn't win then we all know the Tonys are fixed.
Oh, Orion, You ... you-- OKAY, okay: Idina trumps Sutton. I'm soooo jealous. You trumped me, too, you sharp-penned devil.
My absolute faves of ALL TIME are Idina (of course...she rules), Sutton, and, well, digging back into ancient history, Daphne, of course.
Now we have to criticize the topics of the Message Board on the Off-Topic Board of a Broadway website? Sorry if they're not deep enough for you guys, but why are you subscribers to this website unless you were drawn to the board yourself? Just because some of the topics are not good enough for your SAT vocabularies and snobbish views is no reason to insult them for posting relevant topics on the "on topic" board, for goodness sake! What a load of elitist excrement! If you are so desperate for a brainy theatre-related topic on the board, then, oh, I don't know, POST ONE instead of just snide offhand remarks.
Look down and you may notice your immaturity is showing.

When all else fails, go with anti-intellectualism! We knew we could count on you MM!
Namo - If you had trouble comprehending my post, why didn't you just ask? Anti-intellectual? Not a bit. Did you look down? Apparently not.

And I quote, ahem: "Just because some of the topics are not good enough for your SAT vocabularies..."
When *I* look down the very last word that comes to mind is "immature."
Come on, MM, cut us all a little slack. I can't speak for Orion, but I was just having some fun. Takes one to know one, and more often than not, I'm as gushy a twittering fan as the next moist-cheeked show queen, but enjoy posting on everything from Butz' visible dance belt (bet Taye looks better in jodhpurs!) to Bush blowing spit bubbles when he can't handle a news conference. Reading Sueleen's bracing summary of the year at Bwayworld.com was a great reminder of what an eccentric blend of expressions turns up here.

You're a better man than I, Auggie27. I couldn't muster up the energy for such a level headed response to MisterSchoolMarm.
"...to [b]ush blowing spit bubbles when he can't handle a news conference."
i'm never gonna get that visual outta my mind, thanks, auggie! how am i gonna keep a straight face at the next neo-con meeting? a-ha! that was just more of the insidious "agenda"...
Namo - A level-headed response from you would have been a pleasant surprise. Well, only if it wasn't negative in nature.
Auggie27 - I'm all for having fun, but it got the point of being horribly insulting and mean-spirited. It's fun to dish out, but when you deliberately mock others, don't be so surprised by a little backlash. But thank you for your mature and positive response. Namo is right. You are a better man than him.
