It's a shame that franchise died... the first tow movies were pretty good. The third was too violent, but after that the damage was done.

You guys are too funny! I just watched KK2 as well and I did like it, but I definitly don't think it's her BEST work LOL!

Saw her 60 Minutes interview last night and she was so down-to-earth...really beautiful, charming and a great interview.

she was on Oprah today (anyone else see it?) and just the way she carried herself for those 5minutes made it very clear that she is as genuine as you all say and i cant wait to see what she does next!

I respect Hilary very much as a person and an actress, but I don't think she should have been nominated for her performance as Maggie in "Million Dollar Baby"., let alone win. I was not blown away.
Annette Bening gave the performance of a lifetime, and has nothing to show for it. It won't be long before people forget about her work in "being Julia".

Broadway, come on. Swank wasn't my pick for best actress, but not even a nomination? Come on. She's brilliant.
Who cares if people forget about BEING JULIA? Those (10 people) that actually saw it will have her performance with them forever - she was remarkable. I would have given her the award, but to say Swank wasn't good? PLEASE. I think JULIA will have a fairly successful DVD release...so many people saw the oscars and have never even heard of being julia - now when it comes out, they'll all run to see it.

I never said that Swank wasn't good. She was good, but I wouldn't have nominated her, for numerous reasons. She probably would have been my 10th or 11th choice for that award.
I hope you're right about the "Being Julia" release. Oh, well. She'll always have the Golden Globe...

I, personally, couldn't be more thrilled for Hilary. I think she is, without question, the most talented of the next generation of actors.
I love Annette Bening. I think she is an amazing performer. I wouldn't take anything away from some remarkable performances I've seen come from her but Hilary was completely deserving of this nomination.
Annette just joins my personal favorite actress, Julianne Moore, as a completely award-worthy performer without an Oscar.

I would agree, but she's only given a few of standout performances, and Kate Winslet displayed much more range. I am, however, anxious to see what's next for Hilary.

It's selling out here in NY too. I saw it again last week. The theatre has a balcony, and it was packed.

I understand that you don't like "Before Sunset" but yes, I would definitely put Delpy in front of Swank. She gave a beautiful, charming, and fully realized performance, all without the use of any showy "Oscar moments".

I like BEFORE SUNSET...why would you say I didn't? I felt Delpy was being herself. She was just having a conversation as herself...have you seen interviews with her? The same.

Glad someone else loves Miss Moore. Charming woman, charming actor. Completely robbed of the Supporting Oscar for Boogie Nights and completely overshadowed by the bizarre desire Hollywood had to nominate and award Kidman for the one semi-decent performance she's turned in (watch Far From Heaven and the Hours and tell me who was more deserving that year...you might say Streep but at least it won't be Kidman).
Then again, most of the awards have a history of awarding the wrong guy or gal...I think they did it in a few instances last night (Specifically, I don't think either of the supporting trophies went to the right person...but they made up for Freeman's shaft for "Driving Miss Daisy" and the atrocity that was Paltrow beating Blanchett in "Elizabeth").
