It's called triangulation--bill patented it in the late 90s...or should I say James Carville did...easy way for her to play both sides and yet stay in the middle...oy...I hope she doesn't get the nomination

I like Hillary, but Bill she ain't...
My money is on Al Gore--I think this new movie is going to give him a huge boost and if the Dems really pound away at the environment as the main issue, Al is the natural choice--no pun intended
"I like Hillary, but Bill she ain't..."
This has worried me for all these years since she has been considered the front runner. I like her as my Senator, but not so much the president.
Bill was SO much better at this than she is.
"Al Gore--I think this new movie is going to give him a huge boost and if the Dems really pound away at the environment as the main issue, Al is the natural choice--no pun intended" I agree.
Hillary...eh. I can take her or leave her, but as my roommate (a Republican to the core) says, "How can she be expected to control an entire country if she can't even control her husband?"
please, mommy, can i have either of them as the nominee? pretty please with sugar on top?

"if the Dems really pound away at the environment as the main issue, Al is the natural choice"
Unfortunately Al doesn't seem to get it. Iraq war? Terrorism? Immigration control? Healthcare? Education? Poverty? The environment won't get him very far as an issue that people will vote for him on.
Haha. That's funny, Jessica. As a woman, I would not have stayed with him, President or not. Adultery is not hot, folks.
But that's another discussion. Sorry.
Al Gore bothers me. I guess it'll be different in '08. That's going to be an exciting year.

I'm not interested in a President who CONTROLS this country--I'd like to find one who can lead it.
And speaking of those who don't get it, if you think the environment doesn't have an effect on the Iraq War, the economy, Katrina, poverty, education and healthcare, YOU don't get it.
^ I agree. If we don't have a stable environment to live in, the rest of it pretty much won't matter.

And if Iran decides to use a nuclear weapon, the environment won't matter, will it?
Nothing will. Nor will it if a huge asteroid hits Earth. Or a tsunami. Where are you going with this?
Sweet mother of GOD, Gotham, you're such a tool. Where does Iran happen to be hiding said nuclear weapon, eh? Keep spouting off that Republican talking point.
Say, do you still buy Zarqawi having anything to do with 9/11?
If ANYTHING, to further your argument, you ought to be touting as a presidential candidate a true STATESMAN with appeal across the world - something George "gun 'em down and let Halliburton profit" W. F'in' Bush is anything but.
As far as Al Gore is concerned, I think the country is done with him, high profile film or not.
Right now my money is on Mark Warner, I may not agree with everything he stands for, because he's conservative on a lot of issues, I guess you could call him a moderate democrat, but a moderate is what we need to get a Dem in office.
I'm a far left liberal, but will vote Dem no matter what, because at this point my dog could run the country better than Bush and his croonies. At least she treats people with respect...
Things are bad right now, corruption in government (Abermoff and Rove and the all the Mitchell Wade stuff), the war, lying, warrentless wire tapping etc, high gas prices and still giving tax breaks to oil companies, this is not going well. This president will go down as the worst president in a long time, if not ever, and I don't even see how 31% still agree with him, that number seems too high.

No, I just happen to believe that foreign policy is more important right now.
NO ONE could handle foreign policy worse than George W. Bush has.
Thank you for answering for me, PJ.
And, given our foreign policy is WRAPPED Up in an environmental issue (oil), how even sadder I feel for Gotham now.
I mean, JEEZ, the environment has killed more people by leaps and bounds than terrorism has.
But then again, the environment isn't brown-skinned and non-Christian...
I'm suddenly reminded of this charming letter to the editor I saw in the online edition of my hometown's daily the other day:
Global warming will be fueled by sin
The Bible doesn’t say we should be concerned about global warming, but it does say we should be concerned about sin. The world will experience global warming, but there is nothing we can do about it because it’s God’s design. It is because of sin, and it can be found in Revelations 16: 8-9.
The good news is anyone can escape this event by placing their trust in Jesus Christ for their salvation.
“And the fourth angel poured out his vial upon the sun and power was given to him to scorch men with fire. And men were scorched with great heat and they blasphemed the name of God which has power over the plagues and they repented not to give him glory.” Revelations 16: 8-9
John R. Bluejacket, Lake Jackson
What's even more charming is that our beloved President has a few people whispering in his ear who believe the same.
Get a nominee who will address securing our borders and he/she's in.

I don't want to come across as a giant atheist because I still believe in God, but for all these people who pick and choose which atrocities are committed by God and which are not should go here.
God Hates Amputees
And protecting the environment isn't profitable either. The environment will be an issue for eternity. However long that turns out to be.
Well, I AM a hardcore atheist and I'm sick of religion being used as an excuse or explanation for anything. Let's just blame Zeus; it'll achieve the same result. People have contaminated this planet with chemicals they have gleaned from the earth, water and sky. We have nobody to blame or rely on but ourselves.
*steps on scientific soap-box* There's technically more at work concerning Global Warming than just humans. Granted, we've played quite a role in its accelleration, but global climate change (its more accurate title) has been a part of Earth's story from the beginning. 65 million years ago, Earth was 8-15* warmer than it is today; we go through glacial (cold, glacier growth) and interglacial (warm, glacier retreat) periods. Currently, Earth is in an interglacial period; most climate change on such a scale happens very slowly. The last glacial period was 12,700 years ago; the fastest that we've ever switched from a glacial to an interglacial period was in about 3 to 10 years. Anyways. Other causes of climate change include plate tectonics, variation in the Earth's orbit/change of the tilt of Earth's axis, variation in solar output, and atmospheric particles (such as pollution and volcanic activity; these actually reflect light back out to space and cool the earth rather than warm it). If the current warming trend continues, it is predicted that the weather in IL (where I live, so the example that I was given) will be more like that of Oklahoma/northern Texas in about 50 years.
*steps off box* just wanted to clarify that we're not the ONLY cause of climate change. Granted, we're definately not helping the environment, but there are other processes to take into consideration.
