Artscallion?--why can't Obama supporters be civil?
We're under a spell.
Why can't Hillary supporters stop spinning?
"Yellow gunk" demeans the political process AND your candidate.
Think about it. Are you that childish in other areas of your life--or do you engage in sandbox namecalling just about Barack Obama?
Really, why don't you think about making that your last "yellow gunk" reference.
You're welcome.

What the hell does that Yellow Gunk crack mean anyway? It doesn't even make sense.

Oh, darlin', both Obama supporters and Hillary supporters have been spinning. No one's innocent in that.
Wow, it's almost Pavlovian.
i get a kick out of the people who have maintained for years that gop supporters are the meanies when i watch this.
Artscallion?--why can't Obama supporters be civil?
thats MORE than laughable coming from your PJ. You wouldn't know civility if it was the deuce you just laid in your geriatric diaper. Do take care of yourself PJ, your hypocricy is showing.

Oh my. The race changes, and artscallion starts getting really bitchy.
What saddens me is how this race has made so many of us bitchy with each other. I just hope people are keeping this all compartmentalized. I certainly don't dislike any of the Obama supporters on here. (just one Hillary hater) And by the end of summer we are all going to have to be Obama supporters or Hillary supporters. Hopefully Clinton/Obama supporters or Obama/Clinton supporters.

I will gladly support with every fiber of my being either of these great candidates. Any democrat who wouldn't do the same...well, they confuse and frighten me.
Totally agree with jerby. The most important thing is to displace the status quo in November and we have two very supportable candidates to do that. I support Barack but that sure doesn't mean that I won't support Hillary if she's the nominee. Neither one is the enemy...
Jerby, that is how I feel exactly.
Both sides have been spinning and slapping at the other. (I must admit though, on BWW it seems like Obama supporters as a whole have been a little more negative. In other places (like mydd) Clinton supporters have been more negative.)
The gunk thing seems very odd, is it supposed to mean that voting for Hillary is disgusting, or that it is some form of self-harm? Certainly seems out of line.
Intelligent people of good conscience have good reasons for voting for their candidate, there are also some loons who can't tell which way is up in each candidate's camp, they are not all the same and should not be dismissed.
I third - or fourth - jerby's statement. It's so bad that Obama and Hillary supporters are spewing such hatred to each other. I truly hope it doesn't get to the point where people won't vote in November if their preferred candidate doesn't win.

Don't despair folks- this is how primary fights are. Remember 1980- Ronald Reagan was viciously attacked for being out of touch, ill-informed and of using "Voodoo Economics" by his primary opponent and eventual VP George Bush.
I have not been uncivil to ANY Obama supporters other than Liverpool.
I would call him a nasty-mouthed pimply-faced fat-fat-FATTY no matter who he supported.

I firmly believe no one can be expected to be civil to Liverpool no matter what the topic.
It was a joke, folks. Lighten up.
Of all the things that have been said in these political threads, THIS is the one that sparks this reaction??
Hopefully, you'll all have gotten your sense of humor back by the summer.
Thanks for calling me "really bitchy" though, jerby. That was typical and more likely to bring the process down than my, admittedly tasteless, joke.
I guess this is going to be a pissing contest. Or bitching contest.
Arts--I have no dislike for you. Please don't view this as a battle between us. It's not really. We've both been very passionate about our candidates. Let's leave it at that.
"THIS is the one thing that sparks this reaction"
I'm pretty sure this reaction has been sparked in nearly every political thread for two months now.
Unfortunately, Jerby, the conciliatory tone of your second paragraph is made meaningless by the snarkyness of first paragraph.
Okay. Most of my beloved friends here are Hillary supporters and I support Obama.
and I am saying this in a friendly tone (kinda like were all eating lunch together and sharing...) not in a bitchy one...you guys know I love you all, that's what i say to all my gay friends here in Boston who support Hillary
The reason why I dont like Hillary is bec. I feel that she is going to be like her husband. There are two peas in a pod... I really like Obama bec. I believe that he will be a good president...Hillary is soo negative. Her campaign are always in a defensive mode. Bill Clinton has done nothing for us...I think Hillary will be the same.. she is willing to sell her soul JUST to win.. like Bill in 1996 in Defensive Marriage Act bec. it was election time, and correct me if I am wrong.. Did he said to John Kerry in 2004 that he should go around the country and tell everyone that he is against gay marriage...
Then when Clinton left his office. he pardoned all his "criminal" friends...including his step brother...If I were him I would pardon all those illegal aliens here who's crime only to to try to better their lives... these poor illegal aliens does not contribute to Clinton..that's why they dont get anything??!! He should have done something for THE GOOD OF ALL, instead he pardoned his criminal friends...
uh! let me take a deep breathe.. I will say this...to you guys... I do not like the Clintons.. I am full-blooded Democrat. I voted for him in 1992- my first time to vote and probably by the time the Bush & Clinton dynasty is over... I am already freaking... 50 yrs old !!!
That's why I am taking my chance on Obama.. The Clintons already had a chance for 8 years and they did not DO anything for us... Dont Ask, Dont Tell! , Defensive Marriage Act.... Hillary is in the Committe of Military..something? she should have done something on Dont Ask...while she was a Senator....
Forgive me guys of saying this... I said this to my friends too.. (in a depressed tone)
that if she wins the nomination... I would not VOTE for her.. I will just abstain the slot for President...surely Democrats will win my state (MA)..
I just cant stand her.. I am sorry to say.. I cannot stomach her and Bill Clinton... I wish we will have a President that's has a strong principles and would stand up for what's right...not sell out!
That's just my opinion....dont hate on me bec. I dont like her ...
PS. Artscallion- dont worry .. I am still your friend!
and this is POLITICS guys...and its really hard to express what you believe.. no matter if its right or wrong.. its your opinion!

OMG! LOL I was making a joke!
I'd say I apologize for forgetting the smiley, but that might sound snarky.
"I'm pretty sure this reaction has been sparked in nearly every political thread for two months now."
Would that include the PMs telling me I'm bringing the tone of the process down?

For the most part, I'd have to say yes to that as well.
Maybe not in all of them, but in many the tone was already there and the responses have been personal and intense.
