Jay--when McCain wins and gets to appoint THREE Supreme Court justices, who are appointed for LIFE, and they scale back every gay right, every woman's right, every minority right and countless CIVIL rights, I will blame you and Chris for wasting your votes.

If you don't vote, as far as I'm concerned, whatever happens will be your fault.

There is no trace of those candies on the web anywhere. Which I suppose is not that surprising. They were like sugar babies though and came in an orange box. They were little caramels in the shape of babies.

I remember when I was a kid, K-mart used to sell them.

Correct me if i am wrong..but MA would likely go for Democrats( the electorate votes) ...so how's my 1 vote or 2 in our case really matter?

I dont think the race would be tight here- in case its Hillary vs. McCain.. Hillary will get all the electoral votes in MA. Almost all democratic presidential nominee won in my state...Now if we live in Ohio or PA. that would be different?

Am I right?

How. Does. Your. Vote. Matter?

I won't even dignify that question with an answer.

If you don't understand that EVERY vote matters, I'm not going to be the one to explain it to you.

And every person who says "my vote doesn't matter because my state is not a swing state" contributes to the horrible message that no one's vote matters anywhere.

Vote you conscience. Taz is right. There's no point in continuing this discussion.

be careful, j. in '92 i couldn't bring myself to vote for bush or clinton or perot so i went into the booth intending to abstain while voting in the downticket races. unfortunately i looked at the names and saw a name that begged for my vote. i had no idfea who he was, but his name made me laugh and that's how i ended up voting for white supremecist and anti-gov't wacko:
bo gritz

I have not been uncivil to ANY Obama supporters other than Liverpool.

And now you're just lying. you never called ALL Obama supporters cultist and claimed they've "drank the kool-aid" did you? Oh no wait, you did. But then again, we can't expect someone as old and senile as you to actually remember what you said.

"OMG! Do you remember those candies called "Tar Babies"?"

Tar Babies were delicious. Do they still make them under another name?

If anyone ever tells you that you put too much Parmesan cheese on your pasta, stop talking to them. You don't need that kind of negativity in your life.

"Yea... That makes a lot of sense that Republicans and Independents would vote for a candidate who is practically socialist against a candidate who is more moderate...Right.... "

I wonder if they called John Kennedy a socialist? I am pretty sure they called Franklin Roosevelt socialist. I believe many had serious reservations about Abraham Lincoln, even among those who were anti-slavery. Now these men are widely regarded as being among the greatest Americans.

Most of us who support Barack Obama are acting partly out of faith/hope/optimism. I believe that we have not had a great president in my lifetime. Bill Clinton was a good president, not a great one. Hillary Clinton would probably be a good president, but not a great one. They are too concerned about staying in power to risk "greatness". Greatness comes from someone who is really commited to something so much that they see beyond just maintaining their control.

For all our shortcomings, I believe that America is truly blessed. Whenever things are falling apart, and the situation is at its worst, someone miraculously comes along to inspire the nation, and lead us back moving in the right direction. This is what we need right now.

If you support Mrs. Clinton because you like her, good for you ! If you support Mrs. Clinton because you believe she is the "electable" candidate, please remember this...they said in 2004 we needed to support Kerry, not Dean, because Dean was not "electable". Support who YOU like, and American may just agree with you. Anything less, and you are selling yourself, your party, and America short.

I hope to soon have the opportunity to elect Hillary Clinton as the next Vice-President of the United States of America. She is obviously intelligent and experienced, and we would be well served to have her working in the next administration. I have the highest expectations for Mr. Obama, but sometimes hope is the first step toward a better America.

PRAY FOR PEACE.

Fdr was called a socialist- and that's one of the nicer things said about him. In addition to being our most beloved (and best, in my book) President, FDR was hated with a burning white-hot intensity by his critics. One group of patriots hated what he did to this country so much they attempted to overthrow the government.

So calling someone a monster is pretty mild by comparison.
