I've been saying this for days, now the Hillary Haters are saying it on the blogs: Thomas Edsall on Huffington Post has it in his headline:
Clinton Summons Top Donors For Major Speech In New York Tomorrow Night...
Expected To Suspend Campaign... Developing...
John Aravosis (who detests her) analyzes it as an evil plan she's hatching.
The Edsall column is interesting. He says one of the negotiating points she's holding out for is to protect the black politicians who supported her who are "facing heat" from their constituents.
Obama would have to agree to help them.
Clinton Summons Top Donors, Supporters For Tuesday Speech
Too bad you didn't beat them when the math didn't add up.

I hope for her sake and the sake of the party this is true. I heard an interesting snippet of Bill Clinton at an event today saying "This might be the last campaign appearance I ever make."
Well you beat the blOggers to this "suspension" too bad you didn't beat them to deciding she lost it back in March.
Rachel Maddow has called this all along. Hillary wont quit this race.
ENOUGH!!!!!!
Some of you want to lose in November, don't you? Keep digging.
Pretty brilliant. Seems like she will suspend AND endorse.
It was only a matter of time. Now it's up to Obama. How is he going to unite the party? Who will his running mate be? It's now his to lose.
My thoughts on running mates - I have mixed feelings about Clinton, there is much to argue for and against her. My favorites choices would be Jim Webb and Chuck Hagel.
Chuck Hagel??? Are you crazy?
Here are some of his positions:
* Voted YES on defining unborn child as eligible for SCHIP. (Mar 200
* Voted YES on prohibiting minors crossing state lines for abortion. (Mar 200

It has to be Hillary.
Unite the party.
Obama/Clinton The Dream Team
Hillary and Obama are two popular Democrats. With all this arguing and bickering back and fourth, this is the ONLY was he can unite the party.
I was going to start another thread, but I'll post here.
---
"On today's This Week, Donna Brazile, fresh from yesterday's DNC Rules and Bylaws Tango at the Marriott Wardman Park, broke a little bit of a bombshell whilst paneling. According to Brazile, the Obama campaign had enough votes to get a fifty-fifty split of the Michigan delegation, a result that would have greatly advantaged the Obama campaign and minimized the delegate gains Clinton garnered from Florida. However, the Obama camp passed on pulling the trigger on that deal in favor of the less favorable 69-59 split that the Michigan delegation was proposing.
Brazile, who was taken aback at the lack of effort made by the Clinton campaign to "cut a deal" or otherwise "come to the uncommitted superdelegates" in the room, said: "He also could have won on a crucial vote on this Michigan proposal to split the delegation 50-50. And rather than cause a ruckus they gave in. He had the votes. and the Clinton campaign never took the olive branch."
---
Actually, I can't really figure out what olive branch the Obama camp was offering, but it says something about Obama that he didn't push the vote when he would have won. Well, it also meant that he prevented further outrage from Clinton supporters...

Sorry but it does NOT have to be Hillary.
Obama/Webb trend nicely in all areas except perhaps telecom. Webb instantly kicks out the one leg McCain has to stand on and any savvy voter knows it. Obama/Webb plus the Barr & Paul effect spell doom for McCain.
Virginia is very much in play this election year. I've maintained that stance from the start. Obama/Webb can make a run along the east coast. IMO no other Dem pairing works as well in the Old South, excluding FL. It's the perfect anti-Iraq war ticket.
Spotlights on North Carolina, Virginia, Missouri, Ohio and Michigan!
Obama/Webb's swing state mix is not the same as that of Obama/Clinton, neither is their set of negatives.
At this point, Hillary supporters say it has to be Hillary and Obama supporters say it has to be anybody BUT Hillary.
I'll refrain from saying anything until we see what she says tomorrow evening and what he says when he reaches 2118--which may very well be tomorrow evening as well--just in time to preempt her speech!
Your right. It does not have to be Hilary. Obama can pick someone else. However, he will not be uniting the party and HE WILL LOOSE in November. I'm already looking towards 2012. Maybe the Democrats will have learned by then and we can get a Democrat in the White House in 2012, because there won't be one in 2008.
Obama has man strengths and he is an asset to the party. He can not win against McCain though and I can't help think that some in the DNC know this.
I think the offer must be made. It's an unprecedented primary season, with a neck and neck race. The rancor will subside. And they'd stand to achieve a landslide with record voter turnout, investment of every part of the Democratic base. I'm gooey enough at the center to want to see the two of them up there, all of us cheering a black man and a woman uniting their coalitions and everyone. Though it's a sentimental fantasy thru rose colored glasses, it still moves me to think of them running and winning, and I still believe Obama knows it's an almost immediate rancor-ender. People can be bitter she's not at the top of the ticket, or disappointed that Obama opted to chose her under duress. But that will pass if they take off together. They are both brilliant, and rumor has it, liked one another alot before the competition. Yes, the dream ticket is a sentimental, maybe naive concept, but it's a thrilling image now as it was 4 or 5 months ago. Nothing that's happened on the trail has killed the fantasy -- for me anyway.
"Obama supporters say it has to be anybody BUT Hillary. "
This is not true. Many say it would be just fine. She is the one that attacked him early on in this campaign and its hard for a lot of people to come to terms with that. That said, he will offer it to her. He will. It is who he is.
"HE WILL LOOSE in November"
There is no evidence in that. No offense but you guys were the same ones certain she would take this. What makes you so certain everyone who supported her wont vote for Obama? He is a nice guy and a far better candidate that McCain. To be fair Obama went against Hillary Clinton in probably the toughest primary in history and won. If he can beat her, he can take the general.
When/if Hillary steps down you will see a much different party. This "division" will heal. I just don't know if she will even "suspend." She could have stepped out of this weeks ago and had the same results.

No offense, but I'll only accept political analysis from commentators who understand the difference between Lose and Loose.
Obama will LOSE in November without Hillary.
If he's such a loser how did he ever beat Clinton?
If he can beat her, he can take the general.
Not true. In a primary, you only have to get the votes of fellow Democrats, all in some way liberal and progressive. In the General, you have to win Democrats AND Republicans, which means you must run on what Europeans refer to as a "center-right coalition."
Obama will be positioned by McCain as a radical leftist.
Hillary couldn't use the opposition research against Obama--it would have backfired on her. The Republican 527s, however, are waiting to air their commercials and they're going to be crude, vulgar, ugly and bloody.
How did Clinton beat Obama in the states she won?
I'm saying Obama has won over the Democrats. Great. He's got the nomination.
How is Obama going to get these independents and blue collar workers and Hillary supporters?
Hillary is more to the center. So is McCain. Obama is seen as too left and I consider myself an extreme liberal.
I want to win in November and I am as of yet not convinced Obama can deliver, unless McCain REALLY screws up. With Hillary, our odds were better IMO.
The GOP are going to DESTROY him. Mcain's experience and war record and service to the USA will be what they drum in voters head 24/7. Obama is a senator who did not even finish his first term, his lack of experience, and God knows what else they will make up in order to swiftboat him. I can hear it now.Time will tell. John Kerry was also told the election was his to win and then Bush won. American voters can be very dumb (as 2004 proves)
ENOUGH!!!!!!
Some of you want to lose in November, don't you? Keep digging.
Why are you yelling at us when Hillary is the one doing everything she can to damage not only the party, but the country's future.
OMFG!
"Hillary couldn't use the opposition research against Obama--it would have backfired on her. The Republican 527s, however, are waiting to air their commercials and they're going to be crude, vulgar, ugly and bloody."
SHE DID, IT DID!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If we can't at least agree on that then whatever. She most certainly did go that route. It's unfortunate she had to but that was her game.
I would like to take a poll on here and see what everyone thinks she will do tomorrow night. I'm kinda thinking she's staying in for the long hall.
