Despite some political differences I have had with her in the past.Like wine, she has gotten better with age. She has been an outstanding Secretary of State

Did she know about the state department coverup re Bengazi . I doubt it. Is her medical trouble now coincidental ? Nope These things happen. Guaranteed she would rather not have it but to say this was planned is insane.

I wish her well & all on the board A Happy New Year.

I'm a huge fan of Hilary Clinton. I turned to Barack Obama in 2008 only after Mrs. Clinton told us to give up the dream of the Traveling Pantsuit. My progressive, liberal political beliefs are well-documented on this OT board.

The Pickering panel has issued a 29-point report on Benghazi, and President Obama and Secretary Clinton have accepted the report's findings.

Accoring to the NYT, however, Sen. Graham (R-SC) has stated that he would like to delay confirmation hearings on the next Secretary of State until Mrs. Clinton has testified before Congress. Sen Feinstein (D-CA) has indicated that she, too, would like to hear from Secretary Clinton.

Does anybody here know whether there are areas/types of testimony that Mrs. Clinton can be prevented from giving if she is no longer the active SOS at the time of her testimony?

No. Her position or title at time of testifying is irrelevant. Smearing her by saying she's dodging congressional inquiry absolutely reprehensible. It's just another example of the Republican party behaving shamelessly.

And just WATCH what happens when Ms Clinton launches her presidential campaign. Suddenly she will be the great Ms Satan again and we'll see Mr. Roxy (and all the Republicans) revert to his Clinton hatred.

I think the fact that you are even suggesting the Benghazi 'cover-up' negates your whole point that as an independent even you thought Clinton was good as SOS. People think you are posturing with the independent descriptor. Truth be told, anybody in this country can be an independent of any political stripe. That title is pretty meaningless.

Fox News and the conservative blog-o-sphere are pointing out how convenient it is that she was supposed to testify this week and suddenly had another medical emergency. Graham and the rest of the Benghazi loons already accused her of faking a concussion. Now that we're going over the fiscal cliff for sure, I expect to hear from them bright and early tomorrow that she's the devil and lying about a life-threatening blood clot.

I am with Namo. I am pretty sure Mr. Roxy used the wrong word(s) based off the rest of his post. I think he meant to say "connected' instead of "coincidental". Or he meant to say It was completely coincidental and not at all connected. One of the two.

I heard that the republicans claimed her concussion was convenient -- but haven't, yet, heard the claim used about her blood clot.

I didn't mean that Roxy had those thoughts -- I was making the assumption that we were all talking about Washington.
