Hollister is hot.
I don't work there. But I may in the near future.
I have some friends who work there, and they say that you just need to go in alot, and wear their clothing all the time. Oh, and being easy on the eyes probably helps, too.

Yeah, everything Jwei said is correct. I worked there for a very short amount of time. Being around all those gorgeous people made me feel inferior. Plus, the pay wasn't anything.

I like how the "dressing rooms" don't have doors.
I work there currently.... and I HATE it! Yuck! They pay me $5.50 an hour and I only get a 20% discount! Plus it's boring as all hell!
.... but to answer your question...
I got my job because it was a new store opening and I went to an information session they had at the mall. They liked how I was dressed and liked my personality so I got the job. But now that the store is open we ask people shopping in the store to apply if they are over 16 and are attractive. We also send people around the mall to recruit people. The basic criteria is simply does the person fit the Hollister "look". That sounds terrible doesn't it.
Honestly though... the only thing I like about the job is that I can tell people I work at Hollister.
I shop there on occasion and I always seem to come out disappointed. One reason is the second someone who isn't "Hollister pretty" goes in there they are given the evil eye. Another is their sizes, which I think they may have changed since I last shopped there. I'm not a big girl. I generally wear a medium/small everywhere I go and I have to take a Large there. That wouldn't be so bad if that weren't the biggest size in the store. I'm not what a large should be compared to. My best friend is a medium there and she is a perfect size 4. Its like shopping in a fun house. Everything is distorted beyond recognition. And its really really dark.
My very first time in a Hollister (and btw, I was dragged in against my will) I was offered a job.
Now of course, I was there with my living-Barbie-doll best friend, who is an Abercrombie-zombie. She looked the role, and we were both asked to work there. She actually took the position. She loved the discount, but hated the job. I think she lasted about a month.

I've been to hollister once but the lighting was killing my eyes...or was it the prices? either way, I haven't been back.

I'm a total hollister whore. I spend most of my money there. I love those shirts with the seagull.
It's funny, I love hollister, but I HATE HATE HATE Abercrombie.

I'm a whore to both Hollister, and Abercrombie, I was too young to work there however ::sigh:
last time I went in). and I agree, Lea, Im the same way, Im not fat, Im just tall and normal size for being almost 6'0, and I usually have to wear bigger sizes in there than in Abercrombie, and American Eagle. I wear a medium shirt in AE whereas as soon as I set foot in Hollister, I have to dig out the large. It wouldnt be so embarrassing if the guys who work there werent so friggin breathtaking.
ForTheLoveOfLea: I'm so sorry to hear that the employees made you feel that way. That's another thing I can't stand about the place... most of my coworkers are ginormous snobs. I don't even feel like I fit in there! lol. They're all like a**hole cheerleaders and jocks... and I'm the lone theater geek! They made us sing a song at the interviews... I sang from "Rent"! lol
I would never give anyone the evil eye. Every customer at least gets a fiendly smile from me... most of the time I'm too bored to actually greet them. lol

That's funny.. the sizes in hollister seem smaller than what they really are. I wear a 32 waist in Hollister jeans, and 32 would be way too small anywhere else.
Isn't Hollister owned by Abercrombie? Do you get a discount there as well? Because when I worked at Express, I got discounts at Bath & Body Works since they're owned by the same company. Hollister clothes are okay, but I wouldn't want to work there. It's worse than Abercrombie, in my opinion, because of the whole elitist atmosphere.
Captain_Obvious, you should investigate for us. Get a pair of 32 waist jeans and actually measure to see if they're 32 inches. I swear they have a size conspiracy, because I wear 3 different sizes there depending on the clothing item.
Whenever I go in there I feel the need to read 'Johnathan Livingston Seagull!'
Yes... the sizes are bizarrely skewed. I forgot if they run big or small... or manager told us... I think it varies.
... and NO we don't get a discount at Abercrombie!! What a rip off!
... I think I'm going to start a mutiny next time I work... lol
OY! I've been a nurse too long!! I thought u were talking about the ostomy supply co!!! LOL
I like A&F better.

I worked with several people who were complete bitches to anyone who was below their standards.
And the sizes are annoying. Their shirts for men run very large and their jeans run small.
That's right PJ... cause the shirts I bought were huge on me... and the jeans the gave me are tiny.
And SERIOUSLY... some of the people I work with... not nice. I was even friends with one girl before and now she doesn't even say hello to me anymore! Yeesh!
I don't really like stores such as Hollister and Abercrombie where half the clothes just say "HOLLISTER!" on them in huge sparkly letters on your boobs. I feel no need to pay $30 for a t-shirt just to advertise for them. Plus, being in Hollister makes me feel like I'm in a dimly lit pine forest being watched. Creepy stuff. I also prefer H&M. <3
I'm such a fan of Hollister AND A&F.
I love being a walking billboard! :) :)

I used to be a walking billboard for Hollister and American Eagle. And then my friend made fun of me and told me that logos are considered tacky when you're out of high school. I still shop at those stores, but I tend to not buy anything that has the brand name across my chest. :)
Are you trying to say I'm very "high school?"
...I suppose that's correct...'06, BIOTCHES!!!!
